  1. That is weird. Shell was the only tne making a epoxy for space apps. IT could handle the cold and heat of space.

And yes, the ball screws will take a beating, along with the bearings. Sop keep a eye on the tolerances as you run.

MOST IMPORTANT, DONT BREATH IT IN. IT WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS LATER !. ITS GLASS. NO DIFFERENT THEN BREATHIN IN VOLCANIC ASH.

THATS THE xxxx THEY DON'T TELL YOU ABOUT!!!

  2. I started with Easy Cam and MC 3.21

EasyCam makes Bobcam look stupid, even today. Then there was Feature Cam. We bought the first release. What a joke. Upper engineeres wanted it even though they don't use it or ever would. What sold them was the "EYE CANDY" Never could get it to work.

The big stuff was programmed with Gibbs, which ran off a unix server. Only the salary guys were allowed to use it.

  3. One of our vendors does all our rope drums for us. I have no idea how they are doing it. 80 " long is standard. Some are longer

    16" dia +.

There is talk of buying big enough lathe to do the work here, but ......

A form tool with the exact shape. then lie to the machine about the pitch. THe deeper you go the more the tool will be engaged. Not the best idea in this case.

It would be nice to break it up with a smaller tool. Run both side of the groove like a surface path. Doable if the software can do the geo of if you are good on macros.

  4. Imported file. Ive seen this with SW files a while back.

I reopened the file in SW and turned on everything on and re-saved the file.

When I brought it back in I had no issues.

    Strange stuff.
