Hi There all, I am a badge manufacture for the car industrie. Having trouble cutting this electrode Trying to use finish contour but the tool goes to deep. The toolpath can only go past each letter a bit over for clearance,past the rear curviture not the full depth because i am using small cutters up to .60 mm ballnose cutters length of cutter is restriced.. When i machine a complex 3d surface sometimes the toolpath i machine looks lumpy. The toolpath looks ok on MC ,I have set the torence to .003mm and filter .0015 in Mastercam, step size .15mm . I have to Mazaks vqc20, avj18n .It looks like the buffer is working overtime. Does any one know how to improve my surface finish so it can smooth through out the job. i have to stop the polishers having a whinge on my cavities.... Help

To Cadcam, How do you go about using predator with mastercam to verify my nci files, Is it as good as mastercams verifer? Is There a dealer that sells it in Sydney Australia? How can i get a demo set up to work with mastercam...Before i buy a full version Sorry about all the questions Regards sav...........

Hi, Cadcam I use project manager all the time with mastercam, could not live without it. It is very easy to use you can organise all your files in on tree eg. View mc8,mc7,iges.nc.nci,bmp,jpg,txt . Any tpye of file to do with mcam .Make commets about the job ,give a full profile about the customer etc... Is there any way mastercam can project a number of surfaces on other surfaces. Eg wrap a flat surface around a cylinder or cone surface.....

Is there any way i can save my printer settings in Mastercam when i do a hardcopy. I like to use landscape and A3 papper , but every time i print again i get the default letter a4...

Can any one tell me how to bend a curved surface by 1mm. I make car badge moulds were i am supplied with a 3d iges model of the cars badge. My customer needs 1mm extra curvature on the badge to compensate the cars body curvature after the part is molded and chromed. Is the any way to bend the geometry i was given without starting all over with a new model.. so i can cut the electrodes and burn them straight in the die...the die requires a curved parting line.... Ps: I can supply a mc8 file i need to bend to any one you can help me ... i know delcam power mill v3 had this opption... Regards sav
