  1. how can a person create a custom tool to mimic that of a modern high feed cutter . when doing high speed surface core mill a facemill will not go down steep angles? im using an iscar high feed with the 8mm inserts if that helps thanks any info would be appreciated
  2. Here is what i came up with , the A values are always set at 0 in our coords O9997(DYNAMIC OFFSET PROGRAM) (SET DYNAMIC OFFSET PAGES FROM CENTER OF ROTATION) (G55-G54-CENTER OF ROTATION) G20G40G80G49 G54.2P0 #800=#50700 (S5 PARAMETER X-AXIS) #801=#50705 (S5 PARAMETER Y-AXIS) #3200=3 (S12 PARAMETER FIELD DESIGNATION) #802=#3212 (ACTUAL VALUE CAPTURE) #803=#802/100000 (ACTUAL VALUE CORRECTION) #5221=#800 (X-AXIS G54 LOAD) #5222=#801 (Y-AXIS G54 LOAD) #5223=#803 (Z-AXIS G54 LOAD) #5541=#5241-#5221(X-G55-G54 PUT INTO PAGE 2 DYNAMIC OFFSET) #5542=#5242-#5222(Y) #5543=#5243-#5223(Z) #5544=#5244-#5224(A) #5545=#5245-#5225(C) #5561=#5261-#5221(X)(G56-G54 PUT INTO PAGE 3 DYNAMIC OFFSET) #5562=#5262-#5222(Y) #5563=#5263-#5223(Z) #5564=#5264-#5224(A) #5565=#5265-#5225(C) #5581=#5281-#5221(X)(G57-G54 PUT INTO PAGE 4 DYNAMIC OFFSET) #5582=#5282-#5222(Y) #5583=#5283-#5223(Z) #5584=#5284-#5224(A) #5585=#5285-#5225(C) #5601=#5301-#5221(X)(G58-G54 PUT INTO PAGE 5 DYNAMIC OFFSET) #5602=#5302-#5222(Y) #5603=#5303-#5223(Z) #5604=#5304-#5224(A) #5605=#5305-#5225(C) #5621=#5321-#5221(X)(G59-G54 PUT INTO PAGE 6 DYNAMIC OFFSET) #5622=#5322-#5222(Y) #5623=#5323-#5223(Z) #5624=#5324-#5224(A) #5625=#5325-#5225(C) M99
  3. Hi could anyone held mw with a simple macro to take the difference between G54 (center of rotation) and G55 (probed coord) and shove it into a dynamic offset page? X Y Z A AND C
  4. What in your experience is the fastest way to remove material . I have slots that are 1" wide and 1.5 inches deep. I have tried an Iscar high feed cutter and Iscar and kennametal variable flute end mills. I am looking at using peel mill with a 1/2 inch or 5/8 em . Any feedback is welcome.
  5. What types of operations Is an insert cutter truly advantageous. Obviously the larger your workpieces the more you would turn to the inserts over solid carbide
  6. When do you use insert em instead of a variable flute. We have changed over to variable flute for mostilling we do! If using inserted - what brand is the best in your opinions
  7. I have tried changing some settings in config.. Screen but nothing seems to change.... Anyone encountered this and solved the problem
  8. We are running three mills that are possible to use high feed programming...a haas vf5 , mazak 700D and mazak variaxis 730 5x. How fast is too fast. We had mastercam training yesterday where the guy used peel mill and dynamic core 250 feed with 500 back. All with 1/2 em.
  9. which is better for the wear of the machine(harder on the machine)? Is it really hard on the machine having it use the new high feed trochoidal milling tool paths always throwing the weight of the machine onto the ballscrews or better to be loaded and taking a heavy cut at a slower feedrate?
