  1. The company I work for is considering the purchase of a rebuilt horizontal boring mill with a MachineMate PC based CNC control. Are any of you using MasterCam either ver9 or verX to program one of these controls? If so are you able to use the MPFAN type post with this control and do you need to use a separate utility program to convert a MCam g-code program to run on this type control? I would appreciate any opinions on the offline programming functionality of the MachineMate PC control. Thanks
  2. I've had some trouble with mask on arc when I later tried to threadmill those holes. If the arc I selected was the tap drill size, threadmill op automatically threadmills that size. Box to specify actual thread dia gets blanked out and can't be changed. To avoid problem I always put in points either manually or with c-hook if I also need to threadmill.
  3. I also am experiencing the multiple entries on setup sheet for each depth cut of single operation. I am using html.set and when setup sheet is produced the .nc file is lost or overwritten as well.
  4. Thank you for your responses. From the link provided I thought I had made the changes needed to make it work. I will probably hold off using V9.1 until the setup sheet gets worked out. Thanks again.
  5. I downloaded the latest html setup sheet files from the tools section today. I read the readme_v91.txt and followed the instruction there. My setup sheet isn't working at all. The pfe editor opens containing part of my nc code instead of the html setup sheet. What have I done wrong? If you need more info let me know.
  6. Thank you. It is working now. Everyone will be happy. Well, maybe not everyone.
  7. I've been using the html setup sheet with mill v8.1 and the guys on the floor really like it. I just loaded v9 and copied the html files to posts directory. I edited html.set to reflect new path. Doesn't work. Is this not going to work with new version or am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

    Hobbies?????

Hi, My main hobby is drag racing. I've got a 1978 Chevy Monza with a 350 engine, powerglide, and narrowed Ford 9" rearend on a ladder bar suspension. It has a one piece tilt fiberglass frontend, lexan windows and aluminum interior work. I've done almost all the work myself in my own shop including fab'ing the rear frame and suspension parts. I do my own engines, transmissions and rearend gear setup as well. The car's best time to date is 7.11 seconds at just over 98 mph in the 8th mile. My wife helps out at the track and I couldn't do it without her. I also like to fish and hunt some but not as seriously as the racing. ------------------ David CNC Programmer
  9. Hi, Any additional word on when the V8 post manual might be available? Thanks ------------------ David CNC Programmer
  10. Hi, I appreciate the help. Our network administrator is reluctant to do a "fresh" install so we will try the other stuff first, but at least we now have a place to start. Thanks again, ------------------ David CNC Programmer
  11. Hi, Our network administrator recently upgraded the OS on my workstation from NT to Win 2000. Since the upgrade Mastercam V8.1 Level 1 has become sluggish. I'm wondering has anyone else experienced anything like this and if so how have you solved it? The workstation I run has 128 meg of ram, a 400 meg processor, and the S3Trio video on the Intel motherboard. Would increasing the database and toolpath allocations in the configuration file help? They are presently set at 8000 Kb each. Thanks in advance. ------------------ David CNC Programmer
  12. I've noticed the problem with the parameters page also. But I've also noticed that if I type values in and save the tool, when I call the tool in the program the z step for depth cuts and the xy step for multiple passes are consistant with what I typed in the parameters boxes. This has been true even though the parameters boxes show 0's if I go back and open "edit" tool. For me at least it seems to "remember" the values for program purposes, but "forgets" to display them on tool parameters page. David
  13. Hi, Davidm here from Republic Ind. in Louisville, KY. Using ver8.1 level 1. Have learned a great deal just reading the forum. I enjoy working with the software and look forward to new challenges and continuing to learn.
  14. Dave Thomson - I appreciate the change in the html setup sheet. The improvement in the comments section is exactly what I needed. Now can you tell me what I've done wrong that the advertisement in the upper right corner and the tool icons no longer show up? I've just got x's. Thanks Davidm
  15. After reading this thread I downloaded the html setup sheet and can say I like it. I have noticed however that if I put manual entry information into the program that the html setup sheet doesn't handle it well. The setup sheet will output the manual entry in place of a tool in the operation list of tools. The tool list will be correct. Anyone else have this happen? Thanks ------------------
  16. After you've saved your MC7 file with the new file name you can change the NCI destination of the operations in the new file to match the new file name. This lets you keep the old stuff and create new MC7, NCI and NC also. I use this often to keep track of the frequent revisions to parts.
