  1. Is there a way to change to color of check surfaces. When I have an operation and I go back to maybe re-pick geometry, or check out what surfs I've used, the drive, and the check surfaces are displayed in the same color. This makes it hard to determine which is which. I've looked through config but didn't see anything.

  2. We "used" to have these valenite cutters for our bridgeports. They were 3/4" shank and took triangular inserts (tnga 2.522.150) We liked them alot. There was one for face/side milling and another for plunge milling. I have one of the part numbers although i don't know which one this is. p-vmtn-100r-00-cb I can't them anywhere and I think valenite has been bought out. I guess they no longer make them. I'd love to know if anyone has a lead on these cutters and if not what are you using that you like. we mainly do s-7 soft and hard, p-20, 4130 sometimes aluminium.

  3. We get the same error often. I change to computer for compensation type. It has to do with the arc on radius (or off). When you check the draw screen you will see some funky arc that shouldn't be there. When I first started seeing that error I went through each line of code individually till I came up with the solution. Thats where it happens when the cutter comp turns on or off. Yes sometimes it will do a small arc and the next arc could be twice as big and it'll gag.

  4. Same errors. This post has been here as long as I have. 10 years. Its been updated using the post utility update thingy that comes with each new version of MC since V8. A post request is in, but I haven't heard back yet. Hurcos can be a little different than the standard Fanuc.

should I just delete the $, or move it, where?

  6. When I post, I get "Errors were detected during posting! Do you want to view the messages?". If I say yes, I get...

Can anybody help me out? I understand just about nothing when it comes to the post processor.

  7. We have an older Hurco. It has rs232 and a floppy drive. When our files are larger than the floppy will hold, we resort to the rs232. Is there a faster way to load my files. Can I somehow bypass the rs232? I have seen a floppy emulater that uses a thumb drive which would be great but it seemed like you had to load the file in floppy sized (1.44 mb) segments. Could I replace my floppy drive with a zip drive. Does someone make a driver for that? Is there a reliable company out there that handles these types of upgrades? Or am I just at the mercy of the local computer hacker/gurus?

  8. In the status bar, can I change the width of the box that contains the level number and name? So if I have Level:3 bottom side of bracket 23 slot removed...., can I change that box so I can see more of that name? Right now I can only see Level:3 bott. Which doesnt really help since I have about 30 levels that are all named bottom blah blah blah

  9. We just took delivery of a hurco VM1 graphite mill. It has a fixture on it with 12 positions for cutting electrodes. Its four rows in X three in Y. We usually cut three identical trodes. So I want to write a program that moves to the 1st position, calls the sub, moves back to the second position, calls the sub, moves back to the 3rd, calls the sub, then moves to the second row and calls the second sub program, and so on. I need to write a macro because the machine doesn't have enough work offsets (G54-G59). Its been about 12 years since I had any contact with a macro and it wasn't very much. Does anyone have a similar program? Or can anyone show me a sample program to get me started in the right direction? Heres what I'm using to get me through right now.

I'd love to replace those G52's with some variables. That way I could have several different variations of this program and a seperate place with all the locations.
