  1. Can anyone recommend a Charmilles repair guy in the Midwest? Charmilles says 2 weeks before they can send a repairman.
  2. I've always wanted this. I just thought Master cam didnt have it. Can I have something say on level 5 be translucent and something on level 6 be solid?
  3. So do I right click on the operation, or the geometry icon, I think I'm missing something. When I go to select surfd it still highlights drive and ckeck in the same color.
  4. Is there a way to change to color of check surfaces. When I have an operation and I go back to maybe re-pick geometry, or check out what surfs I've used, the drive, and the check surfaces are displayed in the same color. This makes it hard to determine which is which. I've looked through config but didn't see anything.
  5. We "used" to have these valenite cutters for our bridgeports. They were 3/4" shank and took triangular inserts (tnga 2.522.150) We liked them alot. There was one for face/side milling and another for plunge milling. I have one of the part numbers although i don't know which one this is. p-vmtn-100r-00-cb I can't them anywhere and I think valenite has been bought out. I guess they no longer make them. I'd love to know if anyone has a lead on these cutters and if not what are you using that you like. we mainly do s-7 soft and hard, p-20, 4130 sometimes aluminium.
  6. I had "G83 Z.625 Z.01 Z.01 F2.8" and it said no R value. So I added an R "G83 Z.625 Z.01 Z.01 R.1 F2.8" cutter comes to .1 above part feeds to Z0 and then moves to next operation. How should this line look? All calls to Hurco lead to extended time on hold with cheesy muzak.
  7. I don't use groups. At least I hardly ever use groups that is. Can I disable it so it doesn't make a group and change my geometry color everytime I xform?
  8. I have a conversational control that I would like to store a DXF. file in with the geometry for a 1/4-18 NPT thread mill. I know that I can draw a helix, but I'm not sure how to get it to follow the taper and lead in and out.
  9. We get the same error often. I change to computer for compensation type. It has to do with the arc on radius (or off). When you check the draw screen you will see some funky arc that shouldn't be there. When I first started seeing that error I went through each line of code individually till I came up with the solution. Thats where it happens when the cutter comp turns on or off. Yes sometimes it will do a small arc and the next arc could be twice as big and it'll gag.
  10. Great! It posted with no errors. Thanks for the help guys. Now I just have to check it at the machine. Thanks again.
  11. Made those changes. Now I'm only getting the lnes 236 and 237 math calc/formula error. It cleared up the errors on lines 242, 245, and 300.
  12. Same errors. This post has been here as long as I have. 10 years. Its been updated using the post utility update thingy that comes with each new version of MC since V8. A post request is in, but I haven't heard back yet. Hurcos can be a little different than the standard Fanuc.

  15. When I post, I get "Errors were detected during posting! Do you want to view the messages?". If I say yes, I get... 27 Apr 2010 09:57:39 AM - <0> - Report created. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:39 AM - <2> - Initialize posting log file 27 Apr 2010 09:57:39 AM - <2> - Using MP run version 13.00 and post components version 10.00 27 Apr 2010 09:57:39 AM - <2> - Initiate opening the post processor file(s). 27 Apr 2010 09:57:39 AM - <2> - Post processor file name: C:MCAMX4MILLPOSTSCMPHUR.PST 27 Apr 2010 09:57:39 AM - <2> - The post processor file has been successfully opened. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:39 AM - <2> - Post version information (input): 27 Apr 2010 09:57:39 AM - <2> - UPDATEPOST Version 13. was used to modify this file. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:39 AM - <2> - The file was modified by this product on 03 Aug 09 15:07:01 27 Apr 2010 09:57:39 AM - <2> - The post was written to run with Mastercam Version 13. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:39 AM - <2> - The post product type is Mill. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:39 AM - <2> - Initialization of pre-defined post variables, strings, postblocks was successful. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:39 AM - <2> - Search for defined post variables, strings, postblocks was successful. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - PST LINE (236) - The math calculation/formula has an error 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - PST LINE (237) - The math calculation/formula has an error 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - CONTROL DEFINITION - - Post variable 'dec_seq_right$' was re-initialized from 3. to 0. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - CONTROL DEFINITION - - Post variable 'arcoutput$' was re-initialized from 1. to 0. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - CONTROL DEFINITION - - Post variable 'arcoutputxz$' was re-initialized from 1. to 0. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - CONTROL DEFINITION - - Post variable 'arcoutputyz$' was re-initialized from 1. to 0. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - CONTROL DEFINITION - - Post variable 'larcoutput$' was re-initialized from 1. to 0. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - CONTROL DEFINITION - - Post variable 'larctypexz$' was re-initialized from 1. to 0. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - CONTROL DEFINITION - - Post variable 'larcoutputyz$' was re-initialized from 1. to 0. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - CONTROL DEFINITION - - Post variable 'rotfeed4$' was re-initialized from 2. to 1. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - CONTROL DEFINITION - - Post variable 'rotfeed5$' was re-initialized from 3. to 1. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - CONTROL DEFINITION - - Post variable 'lrotfeed4$' was re-initialized from 2. to 1. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - CONTROL DEFINITION - - Post variable 'lrotfeed5$' was re-initialized from 0. to 1. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - CONTROL DEFINITION - - Post variable 'sub_level$' was re-initialized from 0. to 0. 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - PST LINE (242) - Dollar Sign ('$') found terminating user defined variable/string/postblock 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - PST LINE (245) - Dollar Sign ('$') found terminating user defined variable/string/postblock 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - PST LINE (300) - Dollar Sign ('$') found terminating user defined variable/string/postblock 27 Apr 2010 09:57:51 AM - <2> - Successful completion of posting process! 16. We have an older Hurco. It has rs232 and a floppy drive. When our files are larger than the floppy will hold, we resort to the rs232. Is there a faster way to load my files. Can I somehow bypass the rs232? I have seen a floppy emulater that uses a thumb drive which would be great but it seemed like you had to load the file in floppy sized (1.44 mb) segments. Could I replace my floppy drive with a zip drive. Does someone make a driver for that? Is there a reliable company out there that handles these types of upgrades? Or am I just at the mercy of the local computer hacker/gurus?
  17. Is this in the 3D connexion software or MasterCam? My 3d connexion control panel looks completely different, and I haven't found it yet inside of MC.
  18. When I select a centerpoint and start rotating, That centerpoint drifts about as I rotate. Is there a way to make the centerpoint momentarily stick? If I select "dominant" in the app configuration tab, it seems to stick but I prefer being able to rotate multiple axis.
  19. Is your tool and stock properly defined? If you have a 1/2"end mill with a 1" length of cut and your taking one pass at depth 2" deep you wont see anything because the tool will be within the stock.
  20. In the status bar, can I change the width of the box that contains the level number and name? So if I have Level:3 bottom side of bracket 23 slot removed...., can I change that box so I can see more of that name? Right now I can only see Level:3 bott. Which doesnt really help since I have about 30 levels that are all named bottom blah blah blah
  21. We just took delivery of a hurco VM1 graphite mill. It has a fixture on it with 12 positions for cutting electrodes. Its four rows in X three in Y. We usually cut three identical trodes. So I want to write a program that moves to the 1st position, calls the sub, moves back to the second position, calls the sub, moves back to the 3rd, calls the sub, then moves to the second row and calls the second sub program, and so on. I need to write a macro because the machine doesn't have enough work offsets (G54-G59). Its been about 12 years since I had any contact with a macro and it wasn't very much. Does anyone have a similar program? Or can anyone show me a sample program to get me started in the right direction? Heres what I'm using to get me through right now. % (CRAIGS MAIN PROGRAM) G54 M98P1000 G52X0Y4.0 M98P1000 G52X0Y8.0 M98P1000 G55 M98P2000 G52X0.Y4. M98P2000 G52X0.Y8. M98P2000 G56 M98P3000 G52X0.Y4. M98P3000 G52X0.Y8. M98P3000 G57 M98P4000 G52X0.Y4. M98P4000 G52X0.Y8. M98P4000 M30 I'd love to replace those G52's with some variables. That way I could have several different variations of this program and a seperate place with all the locations.
