  1. R J Well I am getting this error only for drill operations. When I start with boring cycle, it works fine. I am using 4GB Ram and HP core i5 Intel machine with 1GB dedicated graphics. Is it something to do with graphic card or ram memory? Newbie70
  2. I have 2 machines, in one machine I'm running X6 and the other X7. I have same problem with verify while executing internal lathe operations such as center drill etc. However, the verify does work on Outside Diameter operations. I also tried verify with mill and it works. The older files from X6 won't work on X7 unless it is updated to X7. I am going to try something new this time : uninstall X7 from regedit as well as programs, reinstall X6, uninstall X6 and then reinstall X7 from the web directly. This time I am not going to use the web to update MU1 over the net. Just leave it as it is. Hoping to work this time. The reason I switched over to X7 was to get machining time for lathe operations, this facility is not available in X6, unless I missed out on add-ons for X6.
  3. Hi Members I upgraded from X6(32-bit) to X7 (32-bit)by using add-ons. I am unable to use verify for lathe - internal drilling, boring even center drilling. I get error as 'bad allocation'. Any fix for this problem? Never had this problem with X6. newbie70
  4. Apologies members : That's correct I am working in metric. I tried with a stepover of 10mm on dia. It came down to 29min. which is still more. newbie70
  5. Hi R J I installed X7 yesterday. I tried a stock of 110 dia. by 100 long using the margins. I plotted 3 steps with the min. being 30 dia. My op. involved face, rough and finish tool paths. The feed time shows 1hr 21 min. which I think is wrong. newbie70

  7. H G & R J Well I used to work for a company before I quit my job. So am familiar with Okuma, Mori Seiki, Daewoo etc. Since am a newbie, CAD/CAM is also new to me. I don't have vericut software. But yeah, you're right there's no sim for lathe in MC. The reason I need sim for lathe to know the machining time (Time based mode). Any keys to set machining time for lathe in X6 or X7 under verify? newbie70
  8. Hi Members I have X6 and will be switching to X7. I cannot find m/c simulation for lathe. Any tips on vericut software? newbie70
  9. Hi Paulie Once u r done with saving the file and post processor, u need to save as STL file which is basically a Stereolithography file. U could save this file to either desktop or the partition u normally save ur MC file. Give a different name, u will see a certificate file. Once u r done with this, go to settings and under show these toolbars : check machine simulation, click ok (green tick button). U will see 4 icons poppin' up, just place it anywhere u like. Just place ur cursor to all 4 of these icons and u will see that one of them would be simulation settings, click that icon. Under choose type of machine, just leave as it is. Under work piece - click geometry arrow - click : load from STL -and hit the blank greyed box on the right side of the load from STL. Once u hit that box, it will take u to the files where u saved STL filed under the new name. Click on the file u want to transfer to machine sim. Click open, it gets transferred to m/c sim. Before u hit the simulate box below, ensure that, under operations manager : u select the 1st operation and then select the tick -all operations which is at the left corner of Op. manager. Now tick the sim box under machine sim. it will take few seconds to get to sim mode. You have the option to select Time based mode or NC based mode. Before u hit the play button, u need to adjust ur graphic screen manually by cursor or there are some keyboard commands to see the operation as close as want. I hope this will help u get started with m/c sim. Have a gr8 day.
  10. Hi Members I am using X6 (32-bit) and looking for some industrial projects in Mill (3 axis) and Lathe to hone my skills. I have Inventor pro 2010 and ACAD 2012. newbie70
  11. Crazy^Millan Well I I browsed the forums dating back 2012 and found the solution to boring in lathe. I was having problem with boring and the holder was always showing crashed. So I went with Brendan's suggestion back in 2012 I did the boring profile, drilled and endmilled to flatten out the back face of the bore. Then I deleted the drill line from the center (Axis) to the size of the drill which would then make closed profile between ID and the size of the drill. Choose lathe rough boring and chain from the ID to back face. Choose boring holder and finish rough boring. Verify by running all steps including center drill, drill, endmill and rough boring. Choose Toolpath, select lathe finish follow the same procedure as rough boring. It works without crashing. Finally, select face tool and face it off to finish the program. Thks Brendan
