  1. Some awesome resources I've found in my quest for True Knowledge as a freelance hobbyist A+ tecknut: http://www.grc.com -go to "Shields Up". It will scan your ports and any firewalls for security breeches. Excellent website! http://www.pcpitstop.com -scans your entire system for hardware/software inefficiencies and possible security and performance settings problems. Excellent website! (Whenever I buy memory from Crucial, I use the links on the Pcpistop site so they get some credit and $$$) http://security.symantec.com/default.asp?p...id=ie&venid=sym -this link "should" take you directly to the "Symantec Security Check". It is run as a Javascript now, so I can't just post a link to the page. If the link doesn't work correctly, go to http://www.symantec.com and navigate around till you find the "check for security risks" link. This check will perform an off-site virus scan and security check on your PC/connection. I use it when I suspect my installation of anti-virus software has been compromised. I love it when the scan tells me that my NAT router has completely blocked access to my system. Excellent website! Last but (by far) not least (and the most neglected responsibility of PC ownership: (drum roll please...) http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com -It seems like every time someone asks me to help fix their computer, the first thing I notice is the lack of updating from Windows Update. (Biting my tongue from saying anything more about the people). Necessary website! One last thing, someone mentioned KazaaLite. I have it but it's 3.2MB in size. I could upload it to my webserver and send you the link to download it if you contact me through this forum. It's great, although I am truly a WinMX fan, myself.

  10. Thanks for the replies! I could have been a little clearer about one thing, I am very familiar with g-code already. I'm newly trying to program for a Bridgeport Discover 308 and it interprets g-code in it's own way, somewhat non-standard in my experience. This machine is somewhere between 10 and 20 years old. The current operators have been having trouble using Mastercam to program for it and I am trying to help adapt the post processor to make it work correctly. They had been using Bridgeport EZ-Mill until recently. No one can find the Programming Manual for the miller, so I am trying to find something (anything) on the internet. Reaching for straws, really. Thanks again! CP
  11. Does anyone have a good resource for g-code definitions/lists? I am trying to find the list for an older Bridgeport Discovery 308 vertical CNC mill. Thanks in advance, Chris P
