  1. Can someone help me with this? I know it doesn't make a hill of beans, but my operators are whining about the redundant feed moves. Is there any way to get the post to remove the extra feed moves where it is picking up lead ins and outs? I am running V9 MR0105 and using a modified MPLFAN.PST. We are, within the next week, upgrading to X, but would like to fix the issue now. Any help would be appreciated. Here is what I am trying to do. Is now this: N3G0T0303 G0G40G80G90F.1 G96S600M03 G0G54X2.603Z-.032M08 G99G1X2.803F.012 X2.9795 X3.1795 G0Z0. X3.26 G1X3.46 X3.697 X3.897 G0Z.05 Want this: N3G0T0303 G0G40G80G90F.1 G96S600M03 G0G54X2.603Z-.032M08 G99G1X3.1795F.012 G0Z0. X3.26 G1XX3.897 G0Z.05
  2. Thanks. Was hoping there was an easy way to copy the geometry and get it to follow and rotate around the profile of the part. Guess I'm stuck with the old method. Once again, thanks. Respects, Jerry
  3. Don't really want to hop over, I'm looking to create the tool tabs themselves. Trying to create a tab with a bolt hole around the part, without having to draw each one. Actually, maybe draw one, and copy it's profile around the outer contour of the part. Thanks. Jerry
  4. I'm using 9.1 MR0105. Is there a way to copy a group of geometry around the profile of a part? What I'm wanting to do, is copy tooling tabs at a specified distance around the profile of the part that can be machined away later. I've found reference to tabs in Wire and Router, but nothing in mill. Thanks in advance for any help. Respects, Jerry
  5. Trying to draw a model of a casting in MC9 MR0105. I have all the basic components drawn, and joined (boolean add), but the print calls for a .38 internal fillet radius on the entire part. I can get a few of the fillets to work, but the majority will not allow me to create them. Is there something that I am missing? I cannot upload to the ftp due to our firewall, but if someone is willing to help, I can send it via email. ANY help would be appreciated. Respects, Jerry [email protected]

  7. Thanks Marc....I'm not sure I have it figured out myself....obviously not.......It seems I have to do something different each time I use it to get it to work right.....The info you replied with was helpful tho. I appreciate it. Jerry
  8. Actually I am just drilling, using rotary axis/rotary positioning and it is still throwing out the G54's. All the rotations are done in one operation....That is good information for me tho'....I am fairly new to 4 axis programming...with Mastercam anyway....I'm a Smartcam has been.... 9. Ok....I found a topic where the guy wanted to go the other way, but never really found an answer to that either....I am programming a HAAS horizontal mill...the post is a modified mpfan post, I believe. The problem is at each rotation, or tool plane I should say, the post spits out a different work offset (eg. G54, G55, ..... G54.1). I don't want it to do this....I want to work with the original work offset. Can someone tell me where to turn this off? I found where to turn of the force_wcs at toolchange and that works, but I can't seem to find where it tells it to change offsets at rotation....Thanks in advance. 10. Thanks Ya'll.....I think I have it figured out....seems to be working this time anyway....Appreciate all the good help Jerry
  11. Gotcha....thanks.... sorry...after reading my reply I sounded like a xxxx....wasn't intended that way.... Thanks for the reply. Jerry
  12. >It was before even in ver 8 and 7. So, there's no fix that you know of?
  13. Using V9 SP1 and we are having trouble with trimming toolpath. It trims the path just fine, but it throws in some strange Z moves....X and Y will position to a point, rapid down in Z then rapid back up, without cutting anything, then position for the next actual cut...(hope this makes sense)...Like I said, it trims the actual toolpath just fine, but it sort of freaks out the operator when it comes down and doesn't actually machine anything. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Jerry
  14. We are using V9 SP1...we tried 9.1 and had some very wierd things going on, so we went back to 9. I still have 9.1 on my computer, but it's in a different directory.....obviously.... The post is the generic Okuma post, with a few changes for our preference....added air blast for mist coolant....and added some post questions....but other than that....its the generic Okuma post.
  15. Our machines are fairly new....within the last 6 yrs on all of them. I believe they are using the restart feature, but I will check on that and be sure. I usually use a pretty healthy plunge rate and when it calls a new tool it doesn't post a feedrate till after the G1 Z line... EX: G1 Z-.375 G41 X.875 Y.25 D2 F3. Is what I am getting..... Thanks for the replies...I'll check and see if they are using restart or line search
  16. On our Okumas, if there isn't a change in feed from the last instance, after a tool change it isn't outputting a feed. This throws an error if you try and start in the middle of a program where there is no feed rate. Is there any way to force MC to output feed rates at all tool changes? Thanks in advance. Jerry
