  1. I had a similar problem earlier when my Solidworks file produced a Parasolid version later than Mastercam could import. The work-around is to select File / Save As and then select Parasolid (*.X_T). Before saving, select Options, and set the Output As to Ver 13 or Ver14. Then when you read into Mastercam - Use File Convert Parasolid, and select the Parasolid file option, not the Solidworks option. Hope this helps.
  2. The posting was 3/22/2003 and I messed up. I reversed the password and user names. I am now able to connect using cuteFTP (Still cannot connect using IE6 SP1. Sorry for all the trouble. Thanks for your help.
  3. I copied it from an old posting on this forum. (Maybe I copied it wrong???). I had searched the FAQ and did a search looking for other problems with ftp access before I posted my initial question. I did not copy the exact post, but it was the same one where I got the info to download cuteFTP.
  4. Thanks to all. I've got plenty of leads to go on. I'll be busy contacting them this week.
  5. I already checked the Tools / Internet Options / Advanced and Security selections. Nowhere could I find mention of anything that listed FTP to be be checked or enabled. I have myh security set to Medium. Also, I ran the CuteFTP and it appears that is starts to log me on, but then kicks me out after the password. I have the user set to mastercam, the password set to forum, and the port 21. After I connect and the program starts authentication, I get the message on the status bar of cuteFTP - COMMAND > User mastercam 331 password required for mastercam. COMMAND > PASS ******** 530 User mastercam cannot log in.
  6. Thanks, I'll try them first thing Monday morning.
  7. Thanks Millman - I'll keep looking. All the local suppliers have none (even though I offerred to buy - not looking for a gift).
  8. Sorry, I just got back in to reply. I am using WIN98 SE. Where do I find the Folder View Options to set to FTP???
  9. I am using IE 6 SP1 and have not been able to access the CADCAM FTP site using the link provided. After several minutes my browser times out and I get the message the page cannot be displayed. I have searched for similar problems, and have downloaded the cute FTP file. Is this still the best fix? I have a home office, and do not have a firewall installed. I am running Viruscan Professional. I do have a very sloooooooow dial up account (56k that usually runs at 24K). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  10. I have been searching for a Metal Reference Handbook. This is usually a desktop booklet (1/2 page size) that metal vendors used to hand out. It contains all kinds of standard information - steel and aluminum structural shapes and sizes, standard sheet metal sizes, standard bar, plate and round stock sizes (steel, aluminum, brass ...), and seamless mechanical tubing. I have used these everywhere that I worked, but no one had any extra copies. I have tried to get one from steel suppliers, but no one seems to be printing them anymore. Checked on the internet and e-bay - still no luck. Would be willing to purchase a used one, or if there is a site that I could download from, that would be great. Any help would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks for your time.
  11. Thanks - that's what I needed.
  12. I have been working with Visual Basic, and would like to work on a program for Mastercam. Where can I find a list of procedures / operations specific to Mastercam. I am using VB 5, and have all of the general VB information. Thanks.
