  1. ohh yea, the website. www.hydmech.com
  2. We are using Hyd-Mech's they are nice machine we have a H-14 ( by the looks of there website they nolonger make this model )and we also have a S-20A They are both nice machines. I know they make some models withoud the auto feed and stuff. When we were in the market for saws they were near half the price on a compareable DoAll. We have not had any major troubles with ours and they run 12 hours a day 6 days a week for the last 6 years.
  3. the biggest problem i can see with laser cutting that thin of rubber... is getting it to stay flat. the cut quality on the plastics i have cut is awesome, very smooth finish
  4. dont forget lasercutting. I have never tried rubber, but have done a lot of plastic with good results. would be much faster / cheaper than watter jet. jm2c
  5. we have the exact machine in our shop, the only thing i dont like is the wire threader...not a real good design / built cheap. we are using esprit to program, works well on the 4ax stuff too.
  6. I am going to guess you need a laser specific post, programing a laser and programing a mill are completly different (pierce cycles / cutting parameters / line types) thats my $.02
  7. the reason for threadmilling is that i am pushing the envelope for the number of good threads needed compared to the depth of hole that i can drill. i am also talking about 160000 holes that need to be done and i feel much better about thread milling this project. I did try taps with verry little lead, but i was constantly breaking them and really diddnt get deep enough anyway. I am using a solid carbide mill. thanks for your help!!
  8. I am trying to threadmill 1/4-20 threads in 304SS. .400 deep. Do you guys recomend starting at top and going down or start at the bottom and mill up? I generally have more luck starting at the bottom of the hole and climb milling out, but I have never done anything this small. Any suggestions?
  9. we use spade drills to drill large dia holes on our low production runs that do not justify the purchase of a new tool. Not the fastest method, but way better than large HSS conventional twist drills. dont drill a pilot hole for the spade drills though, doesnt work as well.
  10. we just bought a Zeiss 48x80x36 with OpenDMIS software. I checked out what others had to say about the software on that cmmtalk.com website, and there were a lot of "i dont know about that stuff" comments. I went out and looked at the stuff, and it looks really powerfull and useable. The people are really good to work with thus far too.
  11. I have always went to the "ENTER NEXT COMMAND" page and clicked on send file on the pc. I am using FadalDNC. use it to drip feed, load from pc, and save to pc. Always worked great.
  12. Phil, just wondering, whos taking over?? Matt?
  13. sorry, not using mcam for the wire, we are using esprit for it. probably not the best place to ask for help on esprit. dont shoot the messanger!
  14. We have a Sodick, and it does not like to see circles programed 360 deg at one time. For example, if we need to cut a complete circle it needs to be programed in two 180 deg radi. can not explain it, but thats the way she likes it
  15. yea, bad enough the prices are thru the roof, but there is a real shortage of materiial out there no matter how much you are willing to pay.kinda sucks!
