  1. Right now, I ditched the the lead out option and draw it as part of the toolpath. This way I can use the Z retract, which is the fastest for me to do. Your solution looks interesting as well, thanks!
  2. Thanks! Here we go, but it's really not beatiful. End of TP --> Retract to reference point --> exit move --> crash on moving to the other side of the part I am using Mastercam X8 (17.0.19735.0) with pretty much only the 5-axe-curve-toolpath licensed. Curve_linking_test.mcx-8
  3. I have a quick and dirty example, but can't find the upload function...
  4. Thanks for your input you all, think I should be able to find something that works for me! Still, I don't understand the reason why the retract is done before the lead out, makes no sense in my humble opinion. Thanks again, cheers!
  5. Hi, we are cutting and drilling thermo-formed pieces with a 5-ax curve toolpath. Since MC-X8 ignores the safety zones between two operations, the tool crashes in the workpiece when I move from e.g. the left side driling a hole to the right side to start a cut. (the lack of an "inter toolpath safety zone" is already quite poor if you ask me.) What I want to do now, is to add a retract to a reference point to avoid the crash. Now my problem: when my toolpath has a lead out, MC will finish the curve, then do the retract to the reference point, THEN plunge back in and do the lead out (?!?) ... and then crash in the workpiece when changing sides. It works when I disable the lead out, but I would like to keep the lead out, it's actually quite useful. Might this be a post-problem? Am I doing s.th. wrong? Might it be bug? I did not find anything in the forums, thanks for your help!
  6. Hi, I have the same problem in the Tutorial #7 (Video #9) in the Mill L3 Training. I am also using the educational Version, so maybe the problem is related to that, it would not be the first time. I only would have hoped, that these problems were mentioned in the training videos. Each time something like that occurs, it takes me a long time reviewing the video to make sure it wasn't me who did a mistake.
  7. I got my new machine today, which is much more up for the job (GeForce Graphics, more RAM, better CPU...) At first I had the same problem as before, since the Intel Onboard Graphics was active by default. In order for it io work, you have to open the nvidia control panel and add Mastercam to the program list, then define the Geforce as default graphics adaptor for this program. I rebooted, just in case, and it worked! Thanks and cheers!
  8. Okay, so I can blame it on the IT I shall give an update when I have a new computer.
  9. Yes, I did, but obviously not the one who gave me this laptop for this job However, I had hoped to finish the tutorials on this machine, if possible. Maybe this particular problem is not related to the poor graphics? Thought it was worth asking. Thanks for the answer!
  10. Hi all, I just installed the Demo version of X8 to start my training. Problem is, that I can't see the preliminary lines and selection box. Once a line is completed, I can see it, but not before. Did anyone encounter similar problems? Could that have to do with my training laptop only having Intel onboard graphics? Any help is appreciated! Thanks, Niklas
