I have a quick question. I just created a new construction plane and MC made it "940" , which is no big deal. I was wondering if there is a way to change that number.
Thanks,

If I turn on the true soild mode then 4th and 5th axis milling is not available. The stl button is still greyed out. It works though.

Robk,
It's still greyed out but I can use it. Still allows me to save a stl.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the quick reply. My stl folder is grayed out and I can't pick it. Do I have to turn something on?

Morning everyone,
I was wondering if it's possible to save an stl after I verify the operations?
Thanks

Thanks guys,
I called the reseller and we figured it out.
I wish I read this thread yesterday morning but I've been way to busy.
Thanks again to everyone.

Sorry I didn't get back to you. It's been a little busy. I still can't get the mapping thing to work. I'm trying to figure out how to get the surface curves on the surface. If anyone can help me out, please give me a shout.
Thanks

Thanks for the quick response.
How do I know if it has surface curves on it. Is this different from the curves you can make on the edge of the surfaces.

Morning gang,
I have a question? I'm trying to flatten a surface. ( this is the first time I'm trying this)
I got a flat surface but I can't get the mapping c-hook right. When I use it I pick the surface from and the surface to. Then it tells me that no surface curves remapped. Could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong or what I'm missing.
I would really apprieciate it.
Thanks

Jim,
Thanks for your help. None of that worked either. I just worked around it. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
Thanks again Jim.

Jim,
I tried that and that didn't change any. It still wants to move over half the dia. of the cutter.

I tried a smaller drill and it seems to want to move over half the diameter of what ever size drill I want to use.

Morning everyone.
I'm having a drilling problem and I don't understand why. I'm drilling a couple of holes on a contoured surface. I'm rotating on the
x-axis into position. I selected points which are in the center of my holes. I selected flat surfaces to stay perpendicular to. The problem is that when I run it through back plot it wants to drill on the side (quadrant point)of the hole and not in the center. I don't know why and I can't quite figure it out how to fix it. I can work around it but I would like to fix it correctly and know why it does it. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks ahead of time.

Who is your reseller? We're inthe same area as you are (about an hour away going west) and our reseller is pretty cool. They are Optipro out of Rochester. If you want I'll give you the number or you can browse their site.

Bernie,
Thanks, We were discussing how to do something like that the other day.
Thanks

Iskander,
Will that work if the vertical surface is slightly under cut? I got some form blocks that have under cuts and I'm trying to cut them with a dovetail cutter.

Thanks guys,
I ended up calling the people at Haas. I had to change something in the parameter page before I could get the setting 51 to work.
Thanks again for all your help.

Paul,
I haven't played with it as of yet. Iwould be very interested in using it. I just have been kind of hesitant about it. Not quite sure about it. Maybe I'll give a whirl in my next5th axis drilled part.
