  1. Thanks, thats easy enough. Never even new that was there. Was that in X2 as well?
  2. Just loaded X2 MR2 SP1 (was running X2) and notice that the font size in the ops mgr is larger in X2 MR2 SP1 than X2. Is there a way to change the font size (smaller) in the operations manager? Looked breifly in the config but didn't see anything, could have missed it if its there.
  3. Our IT guy is going to wipe out my computer and re-format. Going to reload with Windows XP Pro operationg system (thats what I'm currently running). I'm currently running V9 MR0105 & X2. I want to install V9 back on machine along with X2 MR2 SP1. I pretty sure I need to install the V9 first before the X2, but does it really matter? Please advise. Thanks ahead of time for any input.
  4. When I have note text in my file and choose to analyze entity properties, then I pick the text to analyze but instead of the text being picked quickly, each letter in the text highlights really slow. Then after each letter is highlighted the analyze entity box appears. Also when the edits have been made to the text and you close out of the analyze entity properties box the text re-populates really slow again. I basically have this issue with any text on the screen. Also when I just move my mouse over the text it will cause the mouse to pause and the text will start to highlight and re-populate really slow. I had this same problem in X1 when I first loaded it. I contacted Mcam and was able to get the problem resolved & now works great. Now I'm having same problem in X2 but I'm not having any luck getting it resolved. I can't remember what I had to change to fix it in X1. It was one of those deals that you do one time and forget it. I'm using the same graphic card as always and I can open X1 up and it works great then I can open X2 and its really slow with the text re-population. Has anyone else run across this? If so, what will fix it? I'm pretty sure that it is a setting in the configuration but have not run across anything yet that will help the problem. Thanks ahead of time for any help on this.
  5. 2.0" Phenolic Sheet CE (Canvas Electrical) - Thats all the info I have @ this time.
  6. I'm setting up to machine some 2.0" thick Phenolic Sheet. I have not machined any of this stock in the past. I know it should machine pretty easy but I was curious about a good starting point for speeds, feeds & DOC. I'm going to use a 1.0" 2flt Carbide EM for roughing some thru pockets and would like to take at least 0.500" DOC per pass. I figured I would start out at 4600 RPM (1200 SFM) and 73 IPM (0.008 FPT). Does this sound close or is this to conservative? Any advice would be greatly appriciated. Thanks
  7. Me to! Thats why we are looking for someting more accurate & faster.
  8. Is anyone out there using or familiar with KipwareQTE, KipwarePLN or KipwareTRK software made by Kentech Inc? We are looking in to it and was just wondering if it was worth or time to investigate. Also does anyone have any other recommendations on a software to use for quoting & estimating. Looking for something that doesn't cost a arm & a leg.

  10. The machining times that is thrown out by mcam during the back plot are not even close to what is going on in the real world. Is there a way to make this more accurate and is there a way for mcam to account for the rapid moves in the calculation of the machining time? I'm using the time in some cost estimating on jobs and I'm finding that this is not an accurate tool. I would like to utilize this tool to keep from having to purchase an additional estimating software. If mcam can't do this then what are you finding that most people are using for the job estimations?
  11. Like everyone else we want the most bang for the buck, but right now we are just starting to shop for systems. I have been told about Job Boss but I have not had a chance to look it over yet.
  12. I'm looking for a tracking system that will monitor a CNC machine such as efficiency, downtime, scrap ect... Does anyone have any recommendations?
  13. I'm currently figuring tooling separate for each job. Do you include tooling in your machine rate? if so do you use a percentage for this.
  14. I've asked around a little bit and haven't gotten a real good answer yet, so I thought I would ask and see if any of you guys had any info. Is there any kind of standard formula that is used in the machining industry to figure the machine rate on a CNC machine? If there is I haven't been able to find it. I'm trying to nail down a good rate, but I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Currently I'm figuring in machine cost, labor, maint. percentage & power consumption. Thanks
  15. No, its not part of the package. It's extra.
