  1. WE ARE RUNNING MCX SP2 (MR1)AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO SET LATHE STOCK AND JAW SIZE DEFAULTS. WHEN WE GO INTO THE OPERATIONAL DEFAULTS IN THE MACHINE GROUP FILE PAGE, THE STOCK AND JAW PARAMETERS ARE GREYED OUT JUST LIKE IN VERSION 9, BUT IN V9 WE WERE ABLE TO PUT IN JAW SIZE AND WHICH SIDE WE WANTED STOCK ON (OUR DEFAULT NOW HAS STOCK ON THE WRONG SIDE)IN THE JOB SET UP PAGE AND THEY WOULD STICK FOR THE NEXT JOB. ANY WAY TO GET THEM TO STICK (BE MODAL) IN THE STOCK SET UP SECTION OF THE MACHINE GROUP PROPERTIES PAGE? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!! WE ARE GETTING THE HANG OF MCX AND LOVE IT BUT ARE JUST TRYING TO DIAL IN THE LITTLE THINGS THAT MAKE IT THAT MUCH BETTER. THE DROOG
  2. Could someone explain to me just what is going on with the spindle RPM when you check the CSS box in the lathe tool parameters page. More specifically, is Mastercam working from the Maximum Spindle Speed you enter or from the Spindle Speed you can also enter. Or is it a combination of the two? We know the spindle speeds up as you move towards the centerline of part but just how is the speed determined?
  3. WHEN THE BORING BAR EXITS AFTER FINISH PASS, WE WILL GET A TOOL COLLISION WARNING AND MASTERCAM ASKS FOR A NEW EXIT POINT. IT'S LIKE THE BAR WANTS TO GO STRAIGHT HOME WITHOUT FIRST MAKING THE RAPID MOVE OUT OF THE PART. IT WILL SOMETIMES DO THIS AFTER THE ROUGH BORE, AND WE HAVE CHANGED THE ENTRY DIRECTION OF THE FINISH PASS AND IT HAS SOLVED THE PROBLEM. WE CAN FIX IT EACH TIME BY PICKING A POINT THAT WILL GET THE BAR OUT OF THE PART WITHOUT CRASHING BUT THE TROUBLING THING IS THAT AS SOPHISTICATED AS THE SOFTWARE IS, YOU WOULD THINK WE MUST BE DOING SOMETHING WRONG TO KEEP GETTING THIS WARNING/PROBLEM! DROOGIE STILL RUNNING V9
  4. Hey Crazy Millman, My brain must not be working today. Can you tell me exactly how I can set the config where the NCI names match the name of the current Mastercam geomemtry file being posted. I tried, but don't seem to get it. Droogie
  5. Thanks, Mowens! Tried that but not what we are looking for. It is when we are asked what to name the NC file when posting that we are wanting to come up as the same as the name of the current geometry file be posted. Probably a bit lazy, but just trying to keep from have to type in the file name more than once.
  6. WE ARE RUNNING LATHE 9.1 AND WHEN WE GO TO POST A PROGRAM WE WOULD LIKE THE NAME OF THE GEOMETRY FILE BEING POSTED TO COME UP WHEN WE'RE ASKED WHAT TO SAVE THE NC FILE AS. RIGHT NOW, WE USUALLY GET SOME OTHER NAME THAT COMES UP AND WE HAVE TO TYPE IN THE NAME OF THE GEOMETRY FILE WE ARE POSTING. ANYONE KNOW IF, AND WHERE THIS DEFAULT CAN BE SET? THANKS. DROOGIE
  7. Thanks, Man Down Under!
  8. We are using V9 Lathe and would like to change the default value of stock to leave in Z from .010 to .005 in the roughing cycle. We went into the screen config, but had no luck. Is this where it is done, or someplace else? Any help would be great!!
  9. Thanks. I am just getting used to how this forum works. I did not see my previous post.
  10. In AutoCad you can have multiple drawings open and you can copy from one and paste to another. It is extremely handy when doing a little design work. Does anyone know if/how it can be done it Mastercam X Design?
  11. Is it possible to have multiple drawings open at one time, like in AutoCad, and to copy and paste from one of those drawings to another.
  12. Thanks. I know my dealer will get me a working post and I will get down to the business of programming this bad baby. Droogie
  13. We have an Accuslide gang tool style lathe with a xxxxor control. We have been programming manually but would like to do it with Mastercam. Is anyone out there doing any gang style programming? Droogie
  14. HELLO, WE ARE STILL IN V9 AND KEEP GETTING A TOOL COLLISION WARNING WHEN WE TRY TO DO A CUT OFF TOOLPATH. ANYONE HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND A CURE. THANKS. DROOGIE
