  1. well we called this one guy at NorthWest Tech, but didnt get a reply from him. I think what im going to do....well tell me if this will work to... just draw it in a flat view, the top shape. then just put the tool paths in and step down mill it. instead of trying to draw it 3d in autocad, then exporting it to MC. only wish MC was easier to draw in.... im thinkin this would work. after all its workin with the Ford emblem im making right now, which is flippin sweet so far. opening so many ideas for me to make. ill have to get some pics up of it tomorrow afternoon for you guys to see. and hey, its my 1st actual metal thing ive milled.
  2. well, still havent got the program to run. got a local machine shop to make me 20 of the parts. Guys were really nice and helped me out some w/ the program stuff. Learned my lesson, make sure you can do it before saying you can do it . anyway.... Funny stuff, I took one of the mastercam lesson's in the 2d toolpath book, drew it up, posted it, and it ran just fine. milled it out and everything....i think ill try my program again tomorrow. aye, crazy machine's these days .
  3. i think im just going to take it to a machine shop around here and see if they can run my program or something.
  4. ok new "alarm message". god this is getting old. "2520 ORD 1 RS485 device absent" "2520 ORD 2 RS485 device absent(AC)" right....anyone?
  5. well i re-drew the stuff, but now i cant get it to load again, arg. ill have my teach try and do what ever he did to get the last one loaded.
  6. yep, only....more closed off and what not. and its a EMCO 50-PC mill. what the difference is, i dont know.

N292G28X0.Y0.A0. N294M30 % that is the code that works, well loads.
  8. the first code i posted was mpfan. then we realized we had to change that. so we did... we have done the home and the location of the material thing. my question, does it matter where the part is drawn in mastercam in relation to 0,0,0.
  9. yep, i know about the f9 and the x,y,z axies and what not. now, that G54 you speak of....what is that.
  10. yea, im actually trying to run the program now. the machine..aye..well its pretty old i believe. small thats for sure. im wondering, would the placement of the object in mastercam, like on the screen in relation to the point 0,0,0 effect the limits? if so, i think this might be the problem...lmk.
  11. ok.....NEW PROBLEM. i dont remember exactly what it said, but something along the lines of... SW limits not feasable or something like that, will find out exactly what it says monday.
  12. ok, im guna go in really early tomorrow. around 6:30 or so. so i hope to have that new code up around then to. then ill let you guys go to work lookin at it, while im guna see if i can make one or two . also, went to that shop in town today. the guys guna program it for me and then im guna take that over to the hs and see if i can use that. might not need it, but if this one doesnt work right...yeah. 1 toolpath down...2 to go..... oh, also the guy showed me around the shop...i was impressed. cant wait till i get this cnc stuff down, and able to work on bigger cnc machines .
  13. there we go, guna be made out of black delrin.
  14. ok well my teach was messin around with it, not really sure what he did. but he got it to load up in the program. He said something about the "limits" wernt right so, hes guna play around with it somemore today and tomorrow morning we should be able to make one. im tryin to get a pic of what im actually trying to make, well a render. just to show you guys just how easy this part is. its quite simple...lol. cant believe its giving me such a problem.
