  1. I read everyone's input and appreciate it. Mastercam is a great product and I can't wait for X. emastercam.com is a great resource. The archives are a wealth of knowledge. The current users are a wealth of knowledge. I personally appreciate the awesome and timely help that I have been given here. My only point is this... This forum carrys the registered trademark of CNC Software, Inc. Personal attacks and harrassment have no place here. If this was a general Internet forum, anything goes. This is a site used by Mastercam customers. Paying Mastercam customers come to this site seeing the registered trademark in the name. New users, myself included, are shocked to be immediately attacked by a VERY small minority of forum users. My observation was that I would be able to block some users input. I even admit that those users have infinently more knowledge of Mastercam and this industry in general than I do. I am aware that UBB.classic 6.6.1 is not capable of users blocking users. Maybe it is time, in my opinion, that emastercam.com moves to UBB X. Let me express that it is my opinion that 99.9997 percent of the 7500+ users registered in this forum are here to gain and share knowledge. My complaint is with the VERY small minority of forum users who are out of control and spraying graffiti all over the forum. I am expressing my concerns to the management and ownership of CNC Software, Inc. outside of this forum.
  2. There are some folks in here that I would rather not see their input. Can we get a way to block users that we can do without their crap?
  3. Cut the guy some slack. Not all of are as worldly as you guys. I don't think that he was asking for your post with hundreds of hours of work. His dealer gave the appropriate response. The flamers just look stupid.
  4. Spending time with my son is everything! I remember the pieces of crap that I built by myself because my dad was too busy to help me.
  5. Since when did CNC skills get us into politics?
  6. And, thanks MAYDAY for the help that you gave me earlier getting the Mazak horizontals to like Mastercam. It is going well now. I am machining on three sides of all four sides of the tombstones using different operations and different parts. Thanks again, Larry
  7. yep, that did it. I also had to check "use clearance only at start and end of operation" to make it work. Thanks!
  8. I have a ONE part that runs great. I have transform - translated it 10 times in -Y for TEN parts. In the post, the Z is not lifting up to the initial height so that I clear fixuring between parts. The four heights for the peck drill cycle are set to incremental. In Transform Operation Parameters, I selected copy source operations and deselected disable... I tried some other options with no luck. Thanks!
  9. My 2nd grade son and I did a John Deere 772BH road grader this year for Pinewood Derby. He came up with the idea. He sat with me while I drew it in Solidworks. He listened as I described how to feed it into Mastercam. He watched as I created tool paths. He watched as the CNC made it. My son can already draw parts for the laser. He drew the blade, blade attachment, hydraulics, etc. and we cut them on the laser. Sorry about the dads with less equipment, but I got to spend some quality time with my son teaching him what I love. I am amazed sometimes when I get home at night and my boys have a list of parts to make that night for the project that they are building.
  10. Thanks for taking a look at this. I will use G54.1P1 through G54.1P12. Thanks!
  11. I appreciate the fact that you are looking at this. The 0,0,0 of the tooling on 0 face is G54. The 0,0,0 of the tooling on 90 face is G55. G54 was touched off with the 0 face toward the spindle. G55 was touched off with the spindle looking at the 90 face. Now I am machiinng. The spindle is looking at the 0 face. I need to machine a part on the 90 face (G55) while the spindle is looking at the 0 face. In other words, I need to machine the part on the 90 face from three sides: the 0 face, 90 face and 180 face. When the spindle is looking at the 0 face, I call G55 and it does not go right 8 inches to G55. The spindle thinks that G55 is right in front of the spindle as it was when I touched it off. Reason... G55 was set when the 90 face was looking at the spindle. But I need to have the spindle towards the 0 face and machine on the 90 face (G55). Is that clearer? Thanks
  12. The problem comes when I try to drill holes on the 90 face part from the 0 face using G55. Because the Mazak had G54, G55, G56 and G57 touched off with each face toward the spindle, when I machine G55 from the 0 face, the spindle goes to the wrong place because the Mazak things that G55 is facing it.
  13. This is a Mazak horizontal (FH-4800 with Fusion). The tombstone rotates about the Y axis which is a B0, B90, B180 or B270. I am using G54 for the 0 face 0,0,0 point, G55 for the 90 face 0,0,0 point, G56 for the 180 face 0,0,0 point, and G57 for the 270 face 0,0,0 point. I am machining on three sides of the 0 and 90 face of the tombstone tooling. I am having problems getting the G55 or G57 output to the .eia file coordinated with a B0, B90, B180 or B270 move. I am machining a hole in a part in the center of the tombstone 0 face using G54. I then machine a hole in the part attached to the 90 face from the 0 face using G55. This is the problem. The Mastercam gcode tells the Mazak to drill the first hole ok. After that, the cnc moves right 0.75 inches to G55. That is incorrect. G55 is 8 inches to the right of the center hole from the 0 face. Note that the Mazak is touched off as follows. G54 with the spindle toward the 0 face. G55 with the spindle toward the 90 face. G54 with the spindle toward the 180 face. G54 with the spindle toward the 270 face. I have been able to do this with Mastercam using G54.1P1 through G54.1P12. That method requires more time to touch off tooling and to keep the G54’s straight during programming. We want to use G54, G55, G56 and G57. (I have searched the FAQ, talked to the dealer many times and MC tech support and still do not have an answer, so find another reason to let me have it.) Thanks
