Scot,
Forget the ISO post and go with the conversational.

Thin wall all the way.
Or multi pass with 5mm doc and 0.05 finish pass at each depth.
So you make silver birds as well.......

Thanks fellas. We don't have an integrex at the moment, but there is some talk about getting one. Our mill turn machines are currently programmed by the operators in mazatrol so the cam dept hasn't had anything to do with this sort of thing.

G'day all,
When using MC to programme a mill/turn machine such as the mazak integrex, do you need to have mc lathe and mc mill going at once? Or does mc lathe handle all the live tooling as well?

If you look closely at the parcel on the christmas card you will see a mastercam X box. Is this a hint for a release date?
Then again, in the calendar section they mention that X will be released in 2005. Sooooo... Does that mean X is released xmas 05??????????/

Dragon,
What is your native language?

Dragonz,
I would agree with Roger.

This isn't the x verify thread is it?
The way I understood the post, the dragon is asking for any advice on strategies to reduce cycle time on a particular part. Isn't that what the forum is for?
Why is everyone so uptight lately?
If s/he is trying to get a freebie then I can understand the angst, but even then a reply with a few tips might "encourage" him to do it right himself anyway. A forum member who tries to sponge off everyone else will soon end up with no help wether he gets an angry response or not.
I will look at the file and see if there are any strategies that I think may help. No more no less.

David,
Do you own a golf club?

I have this problem when creating letters regularly. Change to a different colour and then draw over the geometry that is causing the problem and then delete the underlying geometry and rechain.
I should just start doing what john suggested and create text with a note instead.

Sike,
They must be using something for offline programming. Imagine programming one of those things manually and expecting to get complex jobs out the door in a hurry!!!
If they have no other CAM software chew their ear until they buy MC

No cycle 19!!!
How do you set a dynamic position?
I think Ron is on the right track. Good luck.

Does the auto diff add on for vericut work in 5 axis? What happens if you use the WCS for face machining on a horizontal? Will it "combine" the faces and show you the actual part? Same for 5 axis multi setups?

Is there an add on for MC that will allow me to verify a 5 axis operations against an STL file? We have just scrapped several aerospace components because an incorrect drill size was used on one face. I missed it, 2 operators missed it, QC missed it and now we need to start again.
QC QC QC
We don't have a third party verification package, maybe we need one?

I spoke too soon.
When I select line instead of getting the "pencil" all I get is a set of crosshairs. And it doesn't prompt me for what plane I want. As far as I can see all of my settings are the same as the ones selected when I log off and log on as someone else. I have copied the solidworks log file from the other user to my user profile and still nothing. I have had IT do a re-install and still nothing.
Is this some sort of windows issue(pro2000) or do I need to moan at my reseller?

We have our designers draw to mid tolerance. Most engineers or designers don't understand the problems that nominal dimensions cause.

All sorted. It is some sort of registry issue. If I log on as someone else it works.
