Do I need to set anything?

Bunny,
I see now where you are coming from. If it was a hardware accel issue would it happen all the time and not just now and then?
Hardmill,
NCI path is ok.
I think that this and other niggles that I have are caused by moving from one PC to another depending on what shift I am on. I am one of three permanant programmers but we share two MC dongles between 3 pc's. One is just a standard pentium 4 but the others are a xeon and a twin xeon, both with all the bells and whistles.

I'll clarify.
The computer doesn't lock up, I just dont get the window. When this happems I use the change nci tick box in the tool parameters page. I only re-boot to see if I have picked up a conflicting configuration from the network. This is a nuisance that occurs occasionally.
quote:It may look strange , but most of the issuesof file ->get ,file-save like this can have connection to display driver problemsThis is not a file get , file save issue.
Thanks anyway

I think 2 topics might be getting confused here.

I am using windows 2000 pro. We have recently installed MR 0304 but the problem existed even before SP2. Since it doesn't happen very often I think I will just live with it until my pc is upgraded.

Every now and then when I need to alter the NCI on a single operation group, I right click-options-change nci destination and then instead of getting a window nothing happens. I have tried re-booting but this does not work all the time. This has been an issue for a while and not just since playing around with the changenci c-hook.

Gismo did a great job on these and was open to all suggestions. Many thanks.

They do have maintenance and support issues which sucks, but the controller is fantastic IMO. A good 5 axis post is now available for heidanhein so don't let that worry you. Sounds like everyone has made your mind up for you.

Sike,
While everyone is waiting for X you would have every forum members undivided attention if you had a problem. Give it a go and let us know what happens.

I also had the "grouped" button ticked. What I think is happening is that it is counting from the first group and not from where I selected. The first 10 operation groups start from 1000. I will e-mail you a screen shot.

Where abouts are you?
I am a bit busy to help but it is nice to know that some forum members are local.

Jack,
So you're just visiting then?

Gismo,
Thats excellent, but if I select the 10th through to 20th operation groups and start my sequence at 5000 and increments of 10, it numbers my nci's starting from 5100.
Bruce the nci beta tester.

Thad,
I do this now. The problem is that we use a different nci for each tool and use them in a sub programme. So on the front face I could have from 5010 to 5140 in increments of 10. If I have 20 tools in one face and 30 in another ie 2010 - 2300 and I use Gismos chook, I end up with all 5000 series programmes. It is not a common way of doing things but it works well when we need to make changes to a tool.

Gismo,
Still no luck. I logged off the network, deleted temp files, re-started PC.
Any chance of an e-mail???

Gismo,
The one I have downloaded has a modification date of 9/10/2004 12:08. Is this the right one??

Gismo,
I am having trouble with the link. I will try again later.
Thanks again.

1 step ahead of me!!! Has the link been updated??

Any chance this can work only on selected operations? I have multiple ops in my files using different WCS. Depending on the face that they are on the NCI will start with a different #. ie top face 1010 front face 5010 right face 2010 etc etc...

LEGEND!!!!!!!
Since you are developing some really cool stuff, I have a suggestion. Can the prog# field automatically be the same as the nci? This and the other chooks you have made available have made developing new setup documentation a breeze.

If you are using comp don't these machines use a diameter instead of a radius in the tool table? Could this be causing the arc faults???????
I miss the simplicity of my old MX2 but never got the chance to run any posted code on it.
Good luck
