  1. I have an aluminum cavity job that requires some skinny cutters. The cavity tapers from about .700wide to .312 and is almost 5" deep. I did get a part out using straight shank carb endmills but It was slow going. Does anyone have a line on tapered shank carb endmills that they like to use on this kind of stuff. I don't want to do special grinds unless it's not too $pendy. Thanks! MF
  2. I have one but it's ancient. I friend of mine did an Excell macro that was basically functional but not fancy. Are there any out there that will do calcs for both horizontal and vertical 4th axis rotary indexing plus maybe have some trig and other handy shop functions? MF
  3. Hi James! Good weekend? I sent it to you from my home email but it wasn't zipped. I'm zipping now and it will be off directly. Thanks!! MF
  4. Not vertcal but close and they are of a swarf type of profile. The outter walls along one length are kicked over and there are 2 walls well inside the periphery that I'd like to swarf cut as well. The top of the part is planar. Shade the model and do a Analyze-Dynamic and click a wall and note the direction vector will vary. Thanks for the reply!! MF
  5. Wow that was quick James! I'm at work. Could you please email [email protected] I dont have a very big email buffer...I dont think a 2.5mb file will make it. I'll see it at home though! Thanks!!! MF
  6. I finally get to do a 5 axis profile. I think I could figure it out on my own but I thought I'd ask for some help from someone who does this stuff all the time. It's a simple 5axis profile along 8 walls that are about 1" or so tall with .12rads on the floors and .265rad corners. If someone could just do what they normally would with it and then save it back to the FTP it would really help me get off to a good start. The file is FIRST5AX.MC9 and its in the MC9 folder. BTW: The part is a aerospace app. Aluminum. I'd say more but.... Many thanks!!! MF
  7. Need to up a file in the hopes of getting some 5ax help. Thanks for the reply..got my fingers crossed for access to the site soon. MF
  8. Anybody else having trouble?
  9. There's got to be a switch somewhere but I dooont see it Keptin. MF
  10. I only see 9.1 sp2. How do I tell if I have a maintence update installed? Thanks!! MF
  11. James, Is this the correct way to do what you're describing? If it is, I can't get it to work. Windows 2000 seems to not like the format or something and it's not executing the app. Here's the help I'm referencing: Thanks for any help!!! MF
  12. Something has changed within my configuration or somewhere else I suspect. I can no longer have multiple sessions running without it affecting my Operations Manager. Must be some kind of conflict...but it wasn't always like this. It seemed to be like it is now about the time I pasted in a new MC9RS.DLL file in my MCAM9 folder. As I understand, the new MC9RS.DLL has been tweaked to 'enhance' mcam....things like new gui style buttons in the operations manager and the solids manager etc. I thought I read that I can have different configurations for each session to help get around conflicts. Can someone please shed some light on this topic for me? Many thanks!! MF
  13. Stick a negative number in the Adjustment to top cut field inside the cut depth button. HTH MF
