  1. Justind, I'm getting this error when I post: Combined Mill and Lathe Post Processor Version 9.16 © Copyright 1992-2003 CNC Software, Inc. Processing file with CINN-5AX2... Variable not defined: pdrillref Post line number 1870 Program execution halted due to error(s) in .pst I've done some post edits before but I've never created a variable like this. How bout a little hint? MF
  2. Justind, Groovy! Now.. do I need to specify the misc2 cycle to run this? I'll give it a try.. BTW, How can I get my W values in other cycles to be incremental from the R plane? Thanks again!! MF
  3. We're setting up this used 5ax machine and just as the operator was getting ready to tap the 900+ 1/2-13 holes in the tooling plate, he discovered that G84 is not in it's vocabulary. We have the same machine, just a couple years newer that does G84 cycles. Anyone know if it's possible to use settings or software from the newer machine to get the older one to tap? Many thanks!!! MF
  4. Well, thats not as pretty as I was hoping. I'd like to see the dia of my cutter as I drag it around. Guess it'll do. MF
  5. Ok, so does Gibbs. I thought this was a MasterCAM forum /sarcasm on.
  6. I'd like to do something like: Toolpath-Contour-Sketch. Then pick some points and have that be where the tool goes. Is there a c-hook that does this? Many thanks!! MF
  7. I've been getting alot of 'em lately. Here's what happens: I go into the operations mgr, highlight an operation that I know is fine, hit back plot. MasterCAM throws up the 'backplot complete' message but I dont see any toolpath. Then I notice that ALL of the operations are just like that. So I say's to myself "self, this is too wierd" so I save and restart mastercam. NOW..every operation has a freakin red X on it. I've been able to just Regen everything and have it come out ok. But why the heck is this happening? Bug? Two or three MCAM sessions going screwing it up? Anyone...anyone? Many thanks, MF
  8. I need to be able to read some g-code and then backplot the results as geometry. I used to do this all the time back in the ver7.2 days. Can someone please clue me in on how to do it with 9.1sp2? Many thanks!! MF
  9. ..just had to vent folks. Sorry. I'm better now.
  10. I've got a model FU for a step son. But I do have 2 step daughters that have always been stand out kids (now in their 20's). Don't know what the deal is with teen males these day's but it would have taken a straight jacket and chains to keep my son from stepping out of line. Now 22 and out of the house 4 years, he doesn't give any more of a sh@$ about responsibity then when he was doing his best to be a better idiot at 15. I'm MF
  11. Well...so far my search for Catia NC hasn't turned up a whole lot. Or maybe I'm just spoiled with this place. Thanks to all replies and for the useful links. MF
  12. Looks like I'll be delving into Catia V5 soon. Will probably be using it for design and eventualy 5ax manufacturing. I dont see it replacing Mastercam for the 3-4ax stuff though. Does anyone know of a forum like this one that focuses on catia apps? COE has one but it doesn't touch the help that this place has for MC users. BTW is anybody here using catia? I'd really like to hear some input!! Cheers. MF
  13. And setting the configuration screen to english doesn't make it go away for my next session. It seems to have started doing this after I downloaded and installed the MC9RS.DLL that adds some new buttons and other minor functionality. Any ideas? Many thanks and have a good weekend!! MF
  14. I can't make your Helical Sweep work. I keep getting this: What am I doing wrong? Many thanks for any input. MF
  15. James, This toolpath editor thing is killing me. Whats worse, there isn't any help for it. My toolpath is such that I will need feedrate changes at 200+ different points. Can the toolpath editor make this kind of 'global' edit? I don't think I have the patients to click thru and edit every point. Is there anything on the FTP that might help. Thanks!!! MF
  16. Greets to the group. Hope you're warmer/dryer weather than us here in Western WA. I'm doing a Surface Finish Flowline on a feature that runs into a tight inside corner. I want to slow my feed down at those points then kick it back up to my programmed feedrate. Is there a easy way to do this? Many thanks!! MF
  17. Guess I could have been more specific. I'm making a Airplane part that is defined from a blue print. One of the features on the part is a hole with a notation that say's LN1 fit with pin. I'm guessing that LN1 implies a press fit. Thats where I'm stuck. I don't know exactly what LN1 means. MF
  18. Here's a new one for me. The print says LN1 fit with pin. Anyone see this before? Care to enlighten? MF
  19. Well....looks like I'm going to have to get a cutter with 1.5" LOC. Neither Garr or Leading Edge has that cutter with only .5LOC. Should still work though. Thanks for all the input!! MF
  20. Yep, it's definately a noodle. I need a 1/4" ball carbide 4flt endmill .5LOC 3.5OOH (6in OAL. I can't find it anywhere and I don't want to have a special grind if I don't have to. Any ideas? Thanks for any help!! MF
