  1. Greets to the group... Since you cant have check surfaces with a Surface_rough_pocket toolpath I was wondering if anyone has a slick work-around. I cant get boundries to work because it throws up a 'no nested boundry' error. Thanks, Dan
  2. This has got to be a bug. Ive spent hours trying to figure out why I cant create a point at a set distance from the end of an entity. In V9 it was C_P_L bam done. A good part of this morning I've been getting points that are .020" off (from what I entered) from the end points of any horizontal line ie: .28 is .26 or .28 is .30 depending on which end of the line I reference. Heres the kicker: My WCS is off .020 (in x)from the default coord system. So, the Create_Point_Dynamic_Distance appears to be influenced by where your WCS is relative to the default. Try it. Time for a break. Happy T-day! Dan
  3. VB, its red because X tags it as a group. Go to the groups button at the far lower right and pick delete. You should see it in the right color now. HTH
  4. Can't seem to get it. I'm trying to create a point at a set distance along a entity. I've tried Create_Point_Dynamic and then hit D and enter .125 in the distance field. Whats wierd is I get a point but it's not .125 from the end of the line. It's .105 from one side or .145 from the other side. Try it: 1)Drag a short horizontal line (about .500 long), 2)Pick Create_Point_Dynamic. 3) Click on the line and drag the arrow to a endpoint. 4)Press Shift_D to highlight the Distance field. 3) Enter .125. 4)Analyze the distance. I'm getting .020" off from my entered value! BUG? Thanks for any help! Dan
  5. Shift-D was what I was looking for. This place rocks. Many thanks!! Dan
  6. I was creating acrs and the fields in the ribbin bar highlighted red. I was able to just click the point and get the arc I wanted. Up till now I've been entering in the dia for every instance. It's killin me that I can't do it again!! Somebody please toss me a bone here.
  7. DavidB. Can you up an example of that to the FTP? I'd like to see a mill and lathe part all in one shot. Thanks, Dan
  8. I ran updatepost on my 5 axis cinncinatti post and it got seriously butchered. This is new territory for me. Can someone pleas nudge me in one direction or another. I'm putting up the before and after .pst files on the FTP in the Text_&_post_files_&_misc/ folder. The before update file is called: CIN 950 5AX SET LEN.PST_v9 the after file is: CIN 950 5AX SET LEN.pst Important note: I put a # in front of the STARTBIN because updatepost.dll was kicking back an error. I have no idea what STARTBIN does. Many thanks!! Dan
  9. I take it that hide seems to be working correctly for you all the time?
  10. It's kind of hard to describe. Sometimes it doesn't work at all, then I just save and re-open the file and it works again. Most of the time it will hide a couple of entities that I didn't intend to hide....they weren't even highlighted before the hide command is used. Is anybody else seeing this?
  11. +1000 to Thad and VBJB. I'm sure the speed I enjoyed in 9 via the keyboard is gone forever till I get used to the alt key and stuff. I like the Macro keyboard idea though. WTH is a X-keys keypad? Dan
  12. I just noticed the caption on my mcam calendar is a quote from none other than our good e-friend Mr. James R. Meyette. What no autograph? Maybe someday I'll get asked to put my mark on it....like maybe in the year 2015. Cheers, Dan
  13. In all my parts the profile is among a wireframe...usually fairly complex and the chain has like 100 entities. It's easier to just window around it and project it to a plane then to go pick pick pick pick pick pick pick pick pick pick pick pick pick pick pick pick pick..... and try not to screw up in the process.
