I took the recommended requirement off the mastercam site to the computer store and asked for something in the middle of the requirements . So this time I will take 2000.00 dollars with me and see what I can get. Cheers

So? It can still be EDM'd with sinker or an EDM drilling machine. Not sure about laser.

Mikron also offers a vision system for checking tools.

Thanks for the info. Not that familiar with EDM's  . I will look into the mikron vision system.

  4. we don't get continuity thru our speeder spindle, maybe because of ceramic bearings. And I was told a laser is bigger then the drill so it wouldn't detect a broken drill. I was trying to find a way to energize the work piece and hook a light up so when the drill touches the work piece the light goes on.  Maybe I'm not thinking straight.

  5. Does anyone know of a tool break monitor that will work with a 20 micron drill? I am drilling 10 pieces with 1300 hole in each piece and would like a light or something to alert me when the tool breaks. not sure if there is something like this available.

  6. I know that this exists, but not sure where to look for it.  What I want to do is energize my work piece, so when my tool comes in contact with the top of the part it automatic zeros my z axis. What our customer wants,  is to keep the hole within .0003 in depth over 540 hole  our drill dia is .020  .  the problem is the material is graphite and the top surface is not 100% flat.  Does anyone have experience with this?

I'm not sure if it will work, but in your arc filter parameter page, under smoothing there is a check box for "present arcs as line segments". Any luck with that?

Yes Sir that's the one thanks allot.

  8. Good Morning

Is there a way to post all moves as linear moves with no arc moves. Im using multisurface rough toolpath. getting some arc error so i was hoping to post them as just linear moves.

    Thanks

  9. Looking for another supplier to buy a 40 micron drill. osg has them but they are 320.00 per drill. all the other supplier stop at 50 micron. any other suggestions will help. Thanks. Been using harvey tool for the 50 micron holes but they don't go smaller then that.
