  1. unless im missing something im only able to map one key stroke at a time and alot of the item are not able to program.. like end point or mid point or arc center. thus my frustration. you can get only so far into hot keys.. and a cntrl+L cannot work as a hotkey any longer only one keystroke programming.
  2. YES i would suggest never deleting V9 for so many reasons. x install does not effect your v9 what so ever..
  3. im aware of the alt then the selection but it only gets you so far.. so if i needed to xform translate all entities from point to origin.. just as an example you can only get to xform translate so 2 keystrokes then its back to mouse functions for the rest of the operations.. god forbid if you have to get to an intersecting point to move entities..
  4. ah i see what your saying and i right clicked on the tool and could turn everything on and off accept for the operations..
  5. Alt-O is the operations menu.. another thing i dislike .. now it takes up the screen as if my 20 inch was small enough. now i get about a 8 x 10 inch screen to look at all the tiny details of a mold..
  6. I’m not real happy with the changes master cam has done to the interface. When I started in design it was AutoCAD dos for drawing and some cam dos programs old school programs like smart cam 3, 4, 5. I have used many programs so change was usually for the better if for speed, power etc. I still use AutoCAD infect I use ADT, and MDT because of the power in surfaces and renders. With that said I would not use AutoCAD to design molds that I use in master cam to manufacture. For me it’s actually much friendlier using a program such as solid works or master cam v9 to design a mold from. With that said I do not like the direction that master cam has taken. I Waste more time clicking on icons then I do actually doing the work. None of my hot keys work as before in version 9. Example of v9 a few keystrokes and I have translated an entire mold with 50 layers of surfaces, splines, and iges to a location desired for machining. Now all the hot keys I used for saving time are now completely useless, no more using one hand on the keyboard and the other on the mouse. It’s all mouse!!!! I share the same frustrations with several other engineers. I have spent a fair amount of time on the x version enough to say I absolutely dislike X version thus far for Cam side. Cad side of X version has its advantages but the advantages do not make up for the losses. It seems to me they interfaced AutoCAD with out the control of AutoCAD. At least AutoCAD has a command line and can repeat an action. It looks to me that ill be waiting for C hooks and Macros to be created for all the options and functions I came use to knowing and depended upon. xtaepo was all I had to type took 2 seconds to type it.. Now its click move click move click move click move click click move to do the same exact thing. what a pain in the A$$. time is money and now programming has completely slowed down because of this interface. Anyone else want to comment on the the fact 99% of what is done now is icon based?
