Just interested: Out of the users here, how many:
1) Dont use Mastercam Solids or any other modelling package (use surfaces/wireframes)
2) Use an alternative modelling package (Solidworks, SolidEdge etc etc) and then import
3) Use Mastercam solids
I'm purely interested, for interests sake
Oh, and isn't it sweet...I find out today, that a long time knocker of Mastercam, is now using it quite happily and productively to program his machining centre. I guess it takes some people a bit longer to realise a good thing

All three. hehe....Well, we have several types of work we want to accomplish, and I'd also personally like to spend more time with the 4th axis, because its something I've never mastered.
Any examples you have would be greatly appreciated
Cheers,
Mick

Does anyone here have experience with 4 Axis machining in Mastercam. We have a Nikken rotary axis for our Okuma MX55VB, and I'd really like to use it
Does anyone have any examples, especially simultaneous axis examples, as Mastercam have very little information about it. I tried using the axis substitution command, but no matter what value I put in for the rotary axis diameter, the toolpath was always incorrect, and out of position radially.
Any help would be truly appreciated.

One of the best verification programmes I've seen is Vericut. Check it out at www.cgtech.com. the software is very powerful. I used it at the last place I worked, though it certainly wasn't utilised to it full potential.

Is anyone here using an Okuma U100M control with the Super Hi2NC function, and Mastercam?
I'm interested to see how, if its been done, it was implemented in the post processor.
