  1. Thanks for your help. I see it can be sort of done but very time consuming. Anyone know of a cad that you can do 3D dimensions with ease it maybe a worth it to us because they want this as an on going thing. Then we could import the model dimension it. Just basic dimensions in 3D of molded components rather than 2D.
  2. Thanks for that yes I can dimension a point position. The problem is I have to dimension a whole part that has diameters radius and all the general dimensions of the 3D part.
  3. Guys is it possible to dimension a 3D model in 9.1 or X. I mean dimension X Y and also the Z values etc. I dont seem to be able to unless I am missing something in the settings.
  4. I agree we do have to wake them up to the fact that they have made a right "stuff up". This X needs a major overhaul before it can be used to any degree of speed and confidence. How anyone can say that it is quicker is beyond me. It is just so easy to prove that it is not. All you have to do is be able to count and be honest about it. Even these couple of supporters if they were honest would say there are many things they dont like about X. We stopped using it a while ago because why keep flogging something you believe is dead. We could also complain about the beta testers but of course we dont know if they really had a voice anyhow it would appear now they had limited input because it would not be like it is if they had a voice.
  5. It proves that a lot of Mastercam guys have deserted and gone to use the other brands due sick of waiting 10 years for a Windows Software...
  6. Gcode Well you would need to do better than dream that carrerbuilders.com link that takes you to a dead screen. We know of companies that have problems getting Mastercam users because now many guys don’t like using and prefer to go places where they have other software products. Maybe that is the theory of vacancies for Mastercam.
  7. Well I did not elaborate too much about X not being Windows because the fear of being berated for even mentioning. In front of me I have a Microsoft keyboard and I will list some of the keys F1=Help F2=Undo F3=Redo F4=New F5=Open F6=Close just to name some. On this work PC there are 16 programs that we basically use every day and all these keys work on 14 of them the other 2 are Mastercam 9.1 and Mastercam X and you must know the result. I hear what you say about previous users but perhaps if you had not let it go for 10 years to attempt Windows programming you wouldn't have this time warp gap of using Windows commands. It is the Windows age now not the stone age. We have 3 CAD software here that we use one especially a lot because of the inadequacies of Mastercam modeling and in the solids we click undo and it undoes the the solid thats why I was saying that Mastercam has undo quirks and not like windows either. Maybe I should have added like what we are used to. I was merely raising the points of what I had encountered.
  8. I am after 2 weeks having great difficulty getting used to X. It is like getting used to a totally new software. The worst part I am proficient with Solidworks and Inventor and many other windows programs but Mastercam X is not windows like they are. There are so many differences even the help is not F1 like windows software. The undo with solids and geometry has many quirks and is not windows just to name a couple. The graphic card problems that are there and the necessary settings to get it to work affects Solidworks too so it wont handle standard windows graphics either. So I am not going to use if for a few weeks and go back to 9.1 and maybe have another look when SP1 comes out.
