We are looking into replacing our scheduling software for our cnc mills. We use robots to load and unload pallets from a rack into the machine. Our cnc programs are ran through the scheduling software to prioritize which pallets run first, takes the nc programs and adds our tool groups and pallet change commands into it. I'm just curious if anyone is using anything similar to what I have described above. I believe the one we are using has been modified heavily in house and we'd like to purchase something that can be supported in case of problems. Thanks in advance.

Hi guys I have a real cool question today about eliminating two steps for an automation process. I am trying to get rid of the need to have an operator load a program from server into the active memory of the Haas and press cycle start. I know there is a port 5900 on the haas machines that can let you use an app called REAL VNC where you can see everything from the controller on another device but I don't know of a way to control the machine from an outside source. Anyway please let me know if you have any relevant knowledge or the direction to look for some, Thank You

I have a query : Our shop is looking at implementing DNC & MDC (machine data collection). Reasons: 1. DNC - no viruses and good program version control/proven program database management 2. MDC - to monitor our issues on the shopfloor. Now, Here are my questions: 1. I got some quotes for the DNC + MDC packages and was wondering if the prices i was getting was way too high ($24-30k for ~28 CNCs)? I only got quotes from CIMCO. 2. Is MDC worth it? What should I look out for ? 3. For those that have got an MDC solution, how much did it cost / what was the ROI time for it? 4. Which the the best DNC & MDC software on the market ? Predator? CIMCO? Multi-DNC? DloG? or something else? I appreciate the help.

For those unaware there has been a NETHook included as part of Mastercam (for quite sometime) that allows batch processing of layered dxf, dwg and mcx files utilizing machining strategies. A machining strategy is a list of level names that are associated (read: mapped) to Mastercam operations. There are two new tutorials that walk you through two examples of using this NETHook, one for Router (kitchen cabinets) and one for Mill (mold bases). Feel free to reply to this thread for any ATP related questions or requests. http://www.mastercam.com/en-us/Support/Tutorials/Mastercam
