X8 converting taps to metric

Hello,

X8 is converting all my taps in all previous Mastercam files to metric as well as my custom tool library.

 

Does anyone else have this happen to them?

 

If so is there a fix?

If you can open up your library in X7, is the "Metric Values" Radio box checked?

 

If so, you may need to go through an uncheck them, otherwise I believe they would process as metric

Yep it's checked in X7, I don't know how but it is.

 

I've made countless parts using those taps, verifying all of them and I have never had a .500 tap show up as a .5mm tool. KWIM

 

At least I know why it's doing it in X8.

I never use metric taps, but I had an 8mm threaded hole on a part other day.  I selected a 8mm -1.25 tap in one of the metric libraries.  The tap showed up a 8" on the screen/backplot but the feed was correct in IPM???

 

I just changed the diameter to .314" and all was well.  

 

Why is this? because MC is running in Inch mode?

Yup, it's because it's using the metric values

 

When I need a metric tap, I pull it from the metric library, convert the values to inch, then save it to my inch library
