OSP300M question

Is there an M code or a variable that I can use for a heavy tool and a large tool?

10lb (including holder), 4" facemill is what I have.

Max 18lbs but I would think I want it as a heavy tool so the atc goes slower.

Max dia is 3.54 with adjacent tools.

My other tools are small tools no larger than a 1/2" endmill, so I think I can just get away without doing anything.

I just want to make sure.

Setting the tool up in the tool page as a heavy and large tool will do it. Easiest way to do it is by "inserting" in to the magazine with adjacent empty pots. It will then set the adjacent pots as "Dummy".

That's what I was going to do. Is there an M code or Variable I can put in the program to do this also? Or is the tool page the only way?

I looked and didn't see an M code, but I figured I would ask anyway.

Tool page only AFAIK. The "Large Tool" setting I would be surprised to see it able to be done by M-Code as it affects other tool pots. The heavy tool would be a handy M-Code though. I use it for a lot of delicate tools

As Ben says, because large tool requires empty pots on either side so you cannot change tool/magazine attributes from the NC code. There are read only variables that specify the tool/magazine attributes, but I don't really see value in being able to check if a tool is set to large tool since it requires the pots next to it to be empty. I can see where being able to check for heavy tool attribute could be handy.
