CATIA TRANSLATOR

We have the catia translator option because some of our aero customers send us straight CATPart files. The translator seems to be some sort of verisurf product.  When I bring in the files all of the dimensions are white and seemed to be locked to the WCS. Is there a way to change the color and lock them to the part when you want to translate the part?

Any particular reason you're translating your parts and not leaving them in aircraft coordinates?

Yup. When using lathe things always go more smoothly when aligning the part on the top work plane. Whenever I try to use air coords I frequently end up having to do a lot of troubleshooting. Secondly, having the part 100 inches off of zero means I have to keep recentering my 3dconnexion gizmo. Yeah, I know using air coords CAN be done but to me it is not worth the headache.
