I am using Mastercam X9

I have successfully created a lathe custom tool  in a level within the same file I am working on.

When I back plot this tool everything is fine, but in verification mode, the holder is a lot bigger and the cutter a lot smaller than what I designed and shows a crash in verification.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Thank you in advance for any tips or ideas.

That version did have some issues with custom lathe tools. Try saving back the tool to a different level from the Lathe Tool Manager and comparing the differences. That should help narrow down the problem, but newer version fully support 3D lathe tools and simulate them. I have Steady Rest, Parts rests and Live Centers all coming through in the MT Module of Simulation.

I've noticed that when creating a custom lathe tool the Cutting Plane moves on you and needs to be adjust back to the center of the tool or a value added to the offeset.

I don't know if that's your problem but it was causing me issues.
