Edit: for some reason I could not get Micks VB sample to work.

Is RunMastercamChook the proper command? RunMastercamCommand worked fine but not the other.

The RunMastercamCommand() function allows VBS programmers to call native Mastercam commands. Look in the Mill9.txt, Lathe9.txt, Wire9.txt or Router9.txt files for 9001 and beyond to see what can be called.

 

The RunMastercamChook() simply launches a C-Hook and waits for it to return before continuing exectution.

 

For some reason, calling VBS scripts from the command line at the same time as specifiying a config file seems to not run the script.

It seem like my old lazzy thread is alive again it means I am not the only lazziest man using mastercam.

Now is it possible to create certain entities be made or some layers are automatically given name in a new file using VB.

What we've done in the past is just create a dummy file with some default settings, levels, entites, tools, or whatever and then use that when we start a new project.

 

Vb function to set Level Names:
