O/T Haas toolchanger problem

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Have a problem with our Haas VF3 Toolcanger (New kind-stagetool). It seems to loose its orientation. We have had no problems until now, sometimes, 20 min of work, 6 hours depends on what the mood it is in, it will grap the wrong tool, or go into alarm. The day guy have been in touch with Haas, and checked some parameters but seems like Haas cant tell us what the problem is. I was wondering if any of you wonderfull people biggrin.gif might had run into this specific problem??.

Nobody dare to run the thing, and now the jobs starts to pile up after the machine have been down for a week.

Thanks

Lars

cmr,

Yep totaly grapping wrong tool. Happend last week, luckely the machine did grab a tool there was shorter than the one it should have had. The day guy wrote a program right before he left were it just goes and grab tool 10 and drill in the air, then goes to tool 15 and does the same, have about 5 tools in there, and then just have program loobe, it ran for 40 min. before it went into a alarm. I am not totaly into the case, but Haas was explaining that the toolchanger works with one switch. When you do a toolchanger restore you will see the carrusel spin around til it meets this one switch, that is located at tool one. Here after the machine knows were the rest of the tool pockets are. So we thought that it might just be the switch stikking. But aperently the rule that out today, by checking some parameters.

Thanks

Lars

exactly HACSTA... its the switch that locates the tool one position this happened to us..there is a boss with an adjustment screw it could of backed out a little ??and gave the switch a little TO MUCH contact we keep then in stock had to replace ones on the mini mill also if you remove that front cover its right in front to the right get a volt meter and test to see if its working ...
