Fadal Floppy Drive

2 of Our Fadal VMCs have floppy drives. the 2 year old 6030 and the 5 year old 3016. to load a program into memory from the floppy on the 6030 goes as expected. nice as clean and as fast as a floppy gets.

I have a problem on the 3016. It reads to memory very slowly as if there is a buffer problem. It seems to read about 40 to 45 blocks at time, buffers, reads. and so on. This isn't right. I want it to read as our 6030 does.

 

Where are the setting to control the read/write on the floppy. I read all the DOCS and couldn't find anything. memory on both machines is 426kb

Are these 32 mp controllers, if they are this may be the case

I would suspest on the 3016 that the computer is an old 133mhz or slower processor and the 6030 is about twice the computer if not more.

If thats not it check the baud rates of the fadal memory manager software on sending programs on each machine.

Oh, sorry. Controller on both is CNC 88hs.

Memory Manager is the "blue screen" communication software that comes with a Fadal.

Sounds like it is in "Run from floppy" mode rather than "Floppy to Memory" mode. Does the following help? Check the section on the diskette drive.
