Models created in Mastercam 2024 - How to save for opening in Solidworks?

Hi,

I have an assembly that was completely created in Mastercam 2024. There are 30 parts in it.  We are having trouble finding an extension that'll work for opening it in Solidworks. Do any of you have experience with this? If so what extension has given you the most success?

Saving as a parasolid- (.x_t) is the best solution, as both Mastercam and Solidworks use the parasolid kernel for modelling and there will be no translation or transformation of data when saving out to, and opening from, the parasolid format. Depending on the version mismatch between Mastercam and Solidworks, you may have to go into the Options box in the save dialog to set the output Parasolid version to a lower version that is supported by the older of the two packages you have installed.

We still are having trouble opening Mastercam 2024 files in SW 2021. Does anyone else know how to make it work? We've tried converting as Parasolid and to lower versions as well. We have tried all three STEP formats and a number of IGES formats as well.

when saving the file from Mastercam

select Save As

then select file type X_T or X_B ( it doesn;t matter which)

then select Options and chose 30 or 31 and click OK

That file will open in SW2021
