levels display entities

CycleTime is correct. screen_blank_unblank then F5 delete all. There may be an association left to a surface you might have moved to a different level. If this is the case I generally will unblank the entities and change to a color that is not in use. Then I will move the entities to a "blank" level, one which I keep them all at and blank them out again.

Are you getting an X "number of entities in the background color will not be displayed" when you open the file?

i solved this mystery.(with a little help)

Hide and blank are two diferant options

and yes the file had blanked entities verses

hidden . from what i found , it has to do with iges importing surfaces . the parent surfaces are blanked(untrimmed) and the

parametric type (trimmed) are visable.

thanks CycleTimeCharles and Bill for your responses

Last week I imported an IGES file from an un-known Cad system, possible UG. I ended up with with 27 entities on layer that were not availabe, not blanked, not hidden and not a background color. Called the layer 'junk' and went on my way!

Awhile back, Autocad 14 days, we would import UG iges and have entities as 'blank' and totaly un-accesable in Cad.

Just my contribution!
