Shading

Back in V8 I had ALT-S was assigned to turn shading on or off. Now it is assigned to to toggle between translucent shading and solid shading, but there is still shading. I am trying to set a function key to toggle shading on or off completely. The most I am able to do at the moment is pop up the screen-surfdisplay-shading menu and then uncheck the "Shading Active", but I can not find where to assign a key to the "Shading Active" checkbox.

 

The reason I want to do this is because I have a problem with Mcam crashing after importing a .SAT file and trying to save it while it is shaded. If I can quickly turn shading off completely I think I'll eliminate that problem.

Matt if you are running V9 it is Alt-S to turn on & off shading still.

 

if it is not working someone has meesed with your keys man.

 

Please try again and if it does not work please try another computer or key board.

ALT-S toggles full shaded and translucent, I want to set another key shaded (either full or translucent) and no shading, where it shows the surfaces and all their lines.

 

I am not using solids btw.

Go to Screen-Configure and open System Configure dialog box and under tab Toolbar/Keys use Find key and search for [alt S]. It should be attach to FULLTIME SHADING(TOGGLE) function is assigned to (ALT S).

Thanks Code_Breaker, thats the one I was looking for. I was looking under the screen menu items in the toolbar/keys config.

so you want a key for translucent then.

I have set mine up for a button under Ncutils and then I can use the queick keys with it.

I have ALT-S setup to toggle between translucent and full shaded, what I needed was a way to turn off shading completely, quickly. I have setup ALT-Z now to turn off any shading whether it is translucent or fully shaded.
