Setup Sheet Post

I want my setup sheet (mill.set) to tell me the maximum depth each tool will cut so we can be sure the cutter hangout is ok during setup.

I was able to get this with the Drill cycle using the variable "depth".

But for Contour and Pocket I am stumped.

It would seem one would have to do a bubble sort routine to capture the max z to output for any one operation.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Download the Mpmaster post from this site and search for z_max. The logic should also already be in Mill.set that ships with V8.

If you want and it is Ok (legal)I can e-mail you my mill.set. The one that comes with V8 reverses the depth, why I couldn't tell you, but I modified mine and it works like a charm.

I'll email you a copy of the setup sheet template. Read through the headers for instructions on how to deal with the part origin and stock origin. You shouldn't have any problems with it. If you make any awsome changes to it, please forward them on to me... See ya later!
