Highlighter won't stay on

The boxed highlighter won't stay on even though it is enabled. It will breifly flash but not be visible for more than a nano second even with the courser stopped.

Rick VH, the problem you describe is video card/driver related. I would bet you have an infamous ATI video card or even better an INTEL on board video card. The usual fixes apply, turn down the video acelleration set the colour depth to 16 bit. Let us know how you make out.

Try:display properties--settings--advanced--trouble shooting--from here turn down the slider, it should cure the problem.
