Rotary axis parameters are used to create toolpath motion for rotating parts. The part can index about a rotation axis to a specified tool plane, the part can rotate about a plane while the tool stays parallel to the rotary axis, or the part can rotate about a plane while the tool stays perpendicular to the rotary axis. These parameters are often used for lathe toolpaths. You can set the rotary axis parameters by choosing the Rotary axis button on the Tool parameters tab of any toolpath dialog box.

Note: To see accurate rotary toolpath motion, select Simulate Axis Substitution and Simulate Rotary Axis in the Backplot Display Parameters dialog box.
