Hurco file transfer problem

We have a Hurco VMX42 and have been using WS_FTP LE to transfer programs. Everything has worked fine until recently. We are suspecting the microsoft SP2 upgrade and their firewall. We tried shuting the firewall off and it still is hit or miss. Sometimes it works then it won't. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this problem.

Midwest, try this go to:

internet explorer

tools

internet options

advance tab

scroll down to use passive FTP and make sure it's unchecked.

Try this, turn on Windows Firewall (Local Area Connection Properties --> Advanced --> "Windows Firewall" Settings), make sure "Don't allow exceptions" is unchecked in the "General" tab, then go to "Exceptions" tab and use "Add Program" button to add "WS_FTP LE" to the list.

 

You may not need to reboot the PC, but I'd reboot it anyway.

I called Hurco and the guy I need to talk to is on vacation. He won't be back in until monday.

I always use CIMCO FTP software for these network ready machines. Maybe you can get a 30 day demo copy from your dealer to try it out. (Not a free software like WS_FTP LE though)
