i uploaded a file called "testply.mc8" to the ftp site .can anybody show me a way of roughing this die without jumping around too much.the forged stock is all one height 3.250 approx.

and if that works we will look at finiishing it off with a 15 deg bevel around the outside.

are we just talking about the ring you left active when i open the file?

i see you had a surface contour around it.

do you want to ruff the inside or is this a casting.

need to know a little to help.

now that i read again you are saying that it is a forged solid block correct?

and you want to make this ring shape?

no this is not solid it is approx 1/2 thick ring

I would use surface rough project.

Note the use of "Direction" for entry into the part
