Modifying Imported Part

Hi Friends,

 

When we imported part for step file into mastercam

How to move the part to 0,0,0 or set wcs at center of part having Circular hole and aline his cylindrical axis along z axis after importing.

ie I need to do modification after importing part into mastercam.

Glad to hear from you Ajit. Sorry to hear about the big mess in your part of the world. I hope all your family & friends are OK.

You could transform/translate/all/entities/done/between points/select the center of your arc/select origin/move.

WCS/Right click over your system view 1/create/copy selected/select your origin.

 

From what it sounds like though you need it moved between views. You could do that by transforming between views or also using WCS.

In WCS right click in your view list/create/select/entity/solid face or only (select entities). Click next if the axis does not match what you need it to.

Ajit, I usually prefer to use job set up, create a bounding box around the model and also enable create centre point. Then xform--»translate--»all entity--»done. then from point is center point and to point is origin. then rotate the model accordingly.

take note then making bbox around solid may get you an error ,not a big one ,but still sometimes big enough to consider .make surfaces from solid and produce bbox only over them
