  1. Depth cuts goes in Z-axis direction, And multipasses in X&Y. Usually for undercut grooving we use multipass. and depth cuts for anything else
  2. Yeah it is normally generated in Siemens NX. If there is a single file you can mail me and I will convert this to dxf or dwg for you.
  3. The biggest surprise for me was removal of coons when I moved to X3, the net surface is far better and easy to use command, in many case simple selection of window and surface is ready, Not even in NX or Solidworks have such ease of use.
  4. Laptops always have screen-size constrains, wait for next gen ipad which could run all our sw. In my opinion Sony is always better.
  5. HELLO ALL I don't think it is possible in any other software with filleted sketch you can not have same radius on drafted wall. CMIIW
  6. create -- arc --circ rad If I remember that right.
  7. To finish only curve portion you can create a circle on top of the model and select that as containment boudary. so it will limit the movement of the tool.
  8. Its been ages since I used v9 but I remember after selecting pocket you have to select all surfaces or solid then click on done.

  15. With 48Rc I always prefer semi-finish leaving 0.1mm stock, so the finishing is consistent.
  16. quote: It didn't take him too long to learn that lesson.I never thought I will have to learn that. (j/k) I hope u guys don't such occasional mails from me.

  18. Well all people accessing off topic forum must have seen my previous update of me buying Mastercam X3. Its for my training center which already has Delcam's powermill and Unigraphics. So after clearing of my second cheque the distributors has been kind enough to send me the whole package within time. It's always been my wish to have mastercam at place where I work. So after starting my own training center with 2 four axis CNC VMC (not mine) it took me exactly 2 years to get Mastercam. So excitingly I opened the package and what I have, theres few booklet, guide for installation( I read it after installing ) shortcut keys, 2 CD's, USB hardware dongle (I remember having serial lock earlier ) and most importantly the Mastercam Mouse pad so after a lot of excitement we installed mastercam and updated code and now its working the whole new interface. Its' not first time that I saw the X series screen but was first time explored it for hours. Many people here in the forum also been complaining about screen totally different steep learning curve and many more After exploring it thoroughly mill lathe and wirecut, my only reaction was its excellent. and is here to kick other out. How can any one still like coons when they get net, filleting surface is good, level management is nice and all the commands are easily available with single click. Here's my message to all you guys who got X from the beginning You people are lucky.
  19. Go for surface finish leftover. with 3D collapse. It will do.
  20. I have not seen the file yet but I would suggest to put create--spline--blend. that would give you a smooth matching at both ends.
  21. You should ask this question in main mastercam forum, you will get better response. In 3d max try to keep your model in NURBS rather than in mesh. That way you will be able to export in IGS format. Which mastercam can easily import. I never prefer STL in mastercam.
  22. Thanks mate but i am not getting sim error. Thanx for the link I will try the possiblities
  23. I did a little search in forum but couldn't come across any similar problem. Recently when I got chance to put my hand on mastercam x2 I was having this problem that every now and then it's z-axis would flip and cause trouble, the users told me it keeps happening and all we can do is restart. I am sure their has to be a solution for this. follwoing is a screen shot.
  24. I prefer doing most of 2d things in sketcher. Trimming is far easier in it just single click and drag.
  25. You need to convert your solid to stl format file, and then select file in your verify configuration dialog box.
