Post for Haas Mill/lathe

Could someone give me some help with selecting the correct posts for a Haas VFO and a Haas SL-20? I have contacted our MC reseller and now it has been about 2 months with out an answer and plenty of e-mails. I can’t understand why this is such a big problem getting an answer from him. I do see one post listing in the mill posts for a Hass, but I don’t see anything for a Haas in the lathe posts. Also is there anything specific I need to set-up before running our machines after using these posts? We do have a 4-axis on the mill.

Thanks

John

Good Eve,

Mplfan should be ok for a haas lathe

I use this all the time

and mpfan for mill...haas is very FANUC.

I use mpfan for our VF4. I had to change the direction of the rotary axis in the post though.

We have the 4th axis mounted on the right oposite the tool changer. Maybe it was set wrong in the machine parameters but it works fine now.

Well I have made a pretty Slick hHAAS post as well as Rekd from MPMASTER. I have all my canned cycles as well as other things in the post. I have my manunal entry with my M00 and other things all intregrated with the post and find it to be a bullet proff post that give you flexability as well as customizable features as well.

Hey Ron, I don't think John's quite ready for the kind of mods you and Matt have done; no offense to him intended, but you guys have some serious work in those.

MPHAAS works pretty well for vanilla Haas VMC code and I think Tony's suggestion of MPLFAN is a good one to start on that lathe.

I would like to thank everyone for their comments on the Hass posts. Thanks to Steve Biehl his contact led me to Wil Slota at Gig Harbor. He’s the man when it comes to posts for educational purposes. He hooked me up with what I needed. Also, Chris M was correct with his comments, we are taking baby steps here. Just give me some time and I’ll be talking like the other guy’s on this site and maybe actual understand what I’m saying.

Thanks

John
