Some embarassingly simple questions

Ok. So I've been plugging away at MasterCAM for a few months now, ran a few projects, but there's a few things that I just haven't been exposed to yet. So here goes!

1) C-Hooks are extensions to Mastercam. They allow you to perform functions that are not included with Mastercam itself. Some examples of C-Hooks are located in your Chooks directory in your Mcam9 folder. C-Hooks are developed with C or C++. To launch the dialog that allows you to run C-Hooks, press ALT+C.

 

2) Think of a stack of transparency pages. Each page may contain some geometery. Each page is a "level". You can have geometry on any level you wish. You can hide certain levels so that you only see certain geometry. It's a handy way of organizing things. Levels in Mastercam are similar to layers in Adobe Photoshop or Macromedia Fireworks, if that's a good analogy for you.

You may have also heard mill level 1 or mill level 3. These are different levels of features that you can get, depending on what type of work you do. Here you can find a description of each.
