MCDirect for Solidworks Question

We do not have Mastercam Solids. I am using the MCDirect function from Solidworks to automaticaly open Mastercam and import the object into it. It works great. When clicking the Mastercam Direct button on the Solid Works toolbar I hit Mill. And than another box opens up. I than use Feature-less Brick? and Import Operations. My question is if I am doing this correct by using these two options. And what does Feature-less Brick mean? What does it do? What's the best way to be bringing a Solid Works part into Mastercam when you have no Mastercam Solids?

A feature-less brick is a dumb solid (no feature or history tree), but it's a solid. Without solids I don't believe you have any other choices, not real sure but I bet someone else knows.

w/o solids....mcam direct...I would assume will import sw solid file as surfaces into macam

Correct. With solids, you can bring in a "Brick" (a solid part with no history tree) or with features you'll have the history that can be more easily modified.
