Do alot of you people use setup sheets? Are they easy to use, or too much of a hastle. I've never used them, but want to know if it would be worth it. I'm not new to MC, but I know I dont use it to its full potential, and would like to start using more of the features.

I just use the simple setup sheet from ncutils. The one that makes a picture of the tool only. I also have the listing in the beginning of the program. just make sure you edit the comment when defining the parameters.

I tried the html setup sheet but I didn't like 20 page setup sheet.

Do a search, there is a recent thread that has lots of info. The set-up sheets are the way to go. For years I used my own "program sheet" and loved it, but it was not automated and so if somebody lost the sheet or it got destroyed, I had to reconstruct from memory.....................and memory ain't what it used to be.

imho

We also use the NC_utils setup sheets.

Typically we print a graphic copy with Alt-T toggled off. This gives a pretty clean 1-page picture showing part orientation & program zero. We also usually print either a Setup List or Tool List as appropriate, depending on how many tools & operations there are. This is usually 1-2 pages long. For the most part, we're pretty happy with this.

The only thing we would like to see is the TYPE of cutter comp. used. These sheets only list a "D" offset #, not the type. We would like to see either "None, Wear, Computer, Control, None" etc. so the operator's know what value to put into the D-offset.

My $.02
