surface rough pocket

can surface rough pocket mill the depths of all pockets or steps in this multisurface rough pocket but leaving the walls for finishing.or is there any other method for milling the depths to size without resorting to constructing wireframes for finishing all the pockets or steps using 2-D pocketing as we already have all the surfaces drawn.

I have resorted to leaving 0.stock and lying that the cutter is bigger then it is to accomplish Finishing the Z but leaving stock on the sides.

Un fortunately it screws up your verification of what really is going to happen ...So I have to copy the operation and use the true tool size when I verify it..Critical levels is supposed to "Function and accomplish this" I have Never been able to get it to Fully function.

Have you tryed pocket sufeing and leave stock ,then come back and do surface contour the walls.

I do the same thing, then come back with surface contour finish. Don't have a problem with verification, as there are no higher ups to look over my shoulder. Then when I post it out, I edit the comment line where the cutter dia. is back to the original size, so as to really confuse the operators!!!

in that case Tony,it means we can't finish all those multisurface pocket depths to their actual depths.it seems there are no other methods for just finishing the pocket depths without touching the walls.

If all you want to do is clean the flat area's, create geometry on the edges of what you want to machine, offset the geometry by the distance of whatever cutter you are going to use and then use "faceing" to clean those areas.

surface the bottom floor and use check surfaces to tell it to no touch the walls problem solved for that one.

If we play by the "Rules" when using surface pocket rough. Then yes if you want to finish the floor we have to finish the side's...

tony not if you use check sufaces you dont have to touch the walls or vise versa.

Surface rough pocket....Check surfaces are Not an option ...only Boundaries are allowed...

cadcam,what i mean is finish the bottom to size using mutisurface rough pocketing as there are no multisurface finish pocket routine without drawing anymore 2-D contour lines.
