Tool change planes

Hi All! I'm trying to do a tool path to a part that has a contour on the top and the bottom of a rectangular part. I know is seems like a 5 axis deal, but what I want to do is put an MOO between the toolpaths, to flip the part. How do I do it?

Mike,

Enter in your M00 with a manual entry and then rotate Cplane and Tplane to selected side and save. I usually change the view to the same plane. Watch your depths and origin of the part. Try posting to see if thats what you want.

Use tool plains & veiws and save a new WCS

for bottom like tool plain number4.

then program the bottom in the plain 4 and program the top in the Top plain now when you post it togeather you will get a rotation in the code.

take the rotation out and put in a "MOO"

and in brackets put the flip info for the operator.

but it has to be in the same rotation that you did the Plains when you program.

Example: if the rotation that you program for bottom is in the "Y" plain then stat this the same.

If you use MPMASTER.PST form this web site, you just have to set Mi10 on the second operation to output a M00 and a tool re-callup.

Using View 4 will flip your part about the y axis. If you want the part flipped about the X axis use Gview, Rotate, Y+ up, and enter 180 degrees
